While much of Seattle is very hilly, the
Burke-Gilman trail offers more than fourteen miles of relatively flat terrain.
The trail winds through the artsy Fremont neighborhood, past Gasworks Park,
between the University of Washington campus and Husky Stadium, behind beautiful
lake-front homes and out to Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery in Woodinville.
The
trail is popular with bicyclists, walkers, runners and skaters, and is a very
'Seattle' way to see the city. Your concierge would be delighted to assist you
in renting bicycles and safety equipment for this activity.
Other
Bicycle links
Cyclists are a lot safer on paths reserved exclusively for non motorized
vehicles. A city-wide bicycle helmet law took effect in 2004.
