Day Trips from Seattle

Day Trips

Seattle is ideally located for one or two-day trips to many surrounding areas. The Olympic Peninsula is a chance to see the Northwest as it existed centuries ago with rare rain forests, old growth forests, ferry boats, rugged ocean beaches, and logging towns. The Peninsula also offers glimpses into Washington's historic past as a leader in the timber industry. Port Townsend makes a wonderful base during your visit to the Peninsula. Explore Victorian era homes, smart galleries, shops, scenic beaches and parks, and enjoy a bevy of seasonal festivals.

For a special day trip, fly by seaplane to the city of Victoria on Vancouver Island. With strong Native American history, 150 years of British colonial heritage and a thriving Chinatown, Victoria offers a diverse selection of cultural exploration. Gardens, parks, shops and fine dining round out a wonderfully varied visit.

The San Juan Islands, a group of 174 islands, range from small rocky outcrops to the four large, lush islands of San Juan, Orcas, Lopez, & Shaw. Arrive by passenger boat, seaplane, or for a longer stay, car ferry. The primary draws are the natural beauty and relaxed pace. Island activities include beach walks, kayaking, whale watching, hiking, and biking.

Vancouver BC Canada    Vancouver is about a 2 hour drive North and has shopping to meet any taste from Malls to Boutiques, begin downtown, check out trendy Robson street or hip and funky Yaletown.
