Repertory Theatre - is dedicated to transforming great literature into great theatre through simple and sensitive production, and to inspire our audiences to read. Twelve years in operation, Book-It has brought more than 27 books to life on stageCenter House Theatre - Located on the 1st floor of the Center House, the Center House Theatre at the Seattle Center is most easily recognized as "the old Group Theatre space." The theater is also the administrative home to the Seattle Shakespeare Company and Book-It Repertory Theatre. INTIMAN Theatre - INTIMAN Theatre is one of Washington's oldest and largest theatre arts institutions - an award-winning theatre that produces dramatic work exploring the intimate relationship between actor and language and illuminating the shared human experience of our diverse community. Numerous Pulitzer-Prize-winning plays have appeared on its stage including "Angels in America" and the premiere of "The Kentucky Cycle." Northwest Craft Center - Northwest Craft Center is one of Seattle's oldest galleries, opening in 1963 and continuing throughout its existence with director Ruth Nomura. The Craft Center features work of local and national artists in ceramics, sculpture, painting, jewelry, glass, prints and more. Pacific Northwest Ballet - Pacific Northwest Ballet is widely recognized as one of the top ballet companies in the country. Under the artistic direction of Peter Boal, the company performs a wide variety of classical and contemporary ballets in Seattle and on national and international tours. Seattle Opera - Seattle Opera - Founded in 1963, Seattle Opera has developed into one of the leading opera companies in the United States. Under the leadership of general director Speight Jenkins, the company is recognized internationally for its theatrically compelling and musically accomplished performances. Seattle Opera's summer presentations, particularly of Wagner's Ring des Nibelungen, have been acclaimed often and widely as the Pacific Northwest's premier cultural events. Seattle Attractions Experience Music Project - Experience Music Project is an interactive music museum combining hands-on experiences with interpretive exhibits that tell the story of the creative process in American popular music. Seattle Monorail - The Monorail departs every 10 minutes from the station at Seattle Center (across from the Space Needle) and from Westlake Center Mall (at Fifth and Pine Street). Each trip takes two minutes to cover the 1 mile route. Sports Seattle Sonics - The Seattle SuperSonics joined the NBA for the 1967-68 season, and have played at the Seattle Center through most of that span. Since 1995-96, the Sonics have played at the 17,072-seat Key Arena, a renovated version of the original Seattle Center Coliseum. The Sonics have been one of the NBA's most successful teams over their history. In 1978-79, they claimed their first NBA Championship over the Washington Bullets, to whom they had lost in the NBA Finals the previous season. The Sonics also advanced to the NBA Finals in 1995-96, losing to the Chicago Bulls. http://www.supersonics.com Seattle Storm - The WNBA's Seattle Storm won their first WNBA championship to complete an amazing 2004 season, electrifying the entire city with their inspirational play! This is the city's newest professional sports team and part of the most competitive women's basketball league in the world, the WNBA. Regular season play runs from June through August. Seattle Thunderbirds - The Seattle Thunderbirds are celebrating their 30th Anniversary season with the start of the 2006-07 season. The 30th season will be an exciting one as the T-Birds will be celebrating the Anniversary all season long at the KeyArena. The T-Birds are a member of the 21-team Western Hockey League. The players are 16 to 20-years-old and the team plays a 72-game season between September and March. The Canadian Hockey League, comprised of the Western League and the Ontario and Quebec Leagues, provides more talent to the NHL and other professional leagues than any other source in the world.
