First let me say, as soon as we got into the elevator there was a weird smell. Now the hotel did smell old, but there was something else in the air. It got worse when we walked down the hallways to our room and our room was no better.

It tickled all our noses and I couldn’t stop sneezing. We left our bags and headed to the closest store to buy air fresheners. When we came back to our room, someone else walking down the hallway also mentioned the smell. We told them we got room sprays and they said they would have to do the same.

Now besides the place smelling funny, the tub was moldy, the beds were concaved and made it very uncomfortable to sleep in.

The hotel might have upgraded their lobby to give “appearances” that it’s a nice place, but it’s not. Luckily we were hardly in our room.

We also found out what the weird smell was….BUG Spray.

Lobby and rooms had been updated - but putting new throw pillows doesn't hid the fact that this is a dated hotel. If you look past the "newer" accessories, you can see they are already a bit worn. The courtyard was lovely though. Hallway carpet was absolutely disgusting - many unidentifiable stains. Rooms were fine for the most part - the removable things were already worn, but not nearly as old as the tile and wall-paper. A number of creepy crawlies found in the bathroom set me off a bit - housekeeping came up and sprayed saying they were coming in through the AC unit. They did not offer any sort of compensation for the bugs. Only one PC in their business center, but it worked. I did hear another guest complain they had no wi-fi in their room and the front desk staff offered no compensation for that either. You get what you pay for in a high-rent district.

Located in a nice, near freeway access area. Easy drive to stores and restaurants. about 3 to 4 miles away and w/ variety)
Rooms were VERY clean and quiet. Staff was friendly and extremely helpful.
We needed directions on two separate days during our stay and when we asked the front desk...they printed out maps and directions both times which was very helpful because we forgot our GPS unit.
Only down sides were; the rooms didn't have a wi-fi connection (and was plug in only) and the pool wasn't very clean. My son and nieces only wanted to swim in it for 15 minutes.
We had the complementary breakfast around 9 a.m. and it was pretty busy at the time, BUT the best part about it was- the dinning area was huge and spacious and had more than enough seating and tables for everyone. Staff was also on top of keeping the breakfast items well stocked for guests. Not a "stingy" hotel, unlike some other hotels.

Was very disappointed, We choose the Coast Hotel because it advertised with free Internet and because of the pool. The Internet was only available in public rooms and the pool was not the Clean indoor /outdoor pool that was advertised on their website. The housecleaning staff was extremely slow as well or room was not cleaned until approx 4 pm daily. The breakfast was poor and they ran out of food each day by 9:30 am.......Kutos to the kitchen however because if you ordered off the menu the food was wonderful!!!

I booked a room for one night, July 27, 2011 at the Coast Hotel through Priceline. When I arrived around midnite from the airport, I was told that Priceline had overbooked the hotel, and there were no rooms left. I was given a mapquest sheet with driving directions to the Quality Inn in Renton, WA, a nearby suburb, and told that Coast Hotel had booked me into the Quality Inn for one night at no charge. I was told it would be a 10 minute cab ride. It took 55 minutes, because the taxi driver got lost. I had to pay for the taxi ride myself, $30.00, and also the taxi ride back to the Coast Hotel the next day, to collect reimbursement for the taxi rides. The Coast Hotel staff seemed quite embarrassed and somewhat apologetic the next day, but not overly apologetic. Several other people who had booked the Coast Hotel that same night were also turned away and sent to the Quality Inn in Renton. I found that out from the front desk staff at the Quality Inn. So if you will be arriving late on your trip to Bellevue, do not book at the Coast Hotel, or you will risk being sent to a different hotel.
