Value nowadays is associated with cheap and you get what you've paid for.
However, true value is getting more than what you have paid for. Located near
Bellevue business district and downtown, the hotel offer free transportation to
nearby areas. big and comfortable rooms are to be expected from tis hotel.
Recently upgraded, makes stay more comfortable. Try the breakfast, they offer
more that comparable hotels. Lastly chat with the staff - you'll feel right at
home, no matter where you are from. You are not just a customer but a guest here
at Red Lion Bellevue.

The staff at the Red Lion were very friendly. The rooms were clean and large. We
had a room over looking the pool. The pool was great. We happen to be in
Bellevue when it was not raining. We had breakfast in the restaurant. It was
average and service was slow but not horrible. We also used the car service to
go shopping at the mall. A nice added service to have. I would recommend this
hotel for families or couples.

I stayed in the Red Lion for a week in late August. The price was reasonable
compared to nearby hotels. I found the reception staff nice in particular one of
them helped me to extend my stay and saved me money vrs an online booking. The
hotel is about a 20 minute walk from downtown Bellevue and comprised of two
stories with several separated wings. It looks kind of old from the outside and
the location is close to the freeway. There is a nice pool for those rare sunny
days in Seattle. I had a king room on the 2nd floor and it was a good size. The
carpet is a bit old but was clean and no problem walking on bare feet. The
bathroom was tiled and in good condition. The bed was comfortable. Housekeeping
are good and kept the room and bathroom always clean. There was a candy machine
which was handy for those late nights when worked finished after the shops were
closed. Although there wer people staying on either side of my room, there was
minimal noise so insulation seemed good.
On the cons my biggest issue was the air conditioning unit. Since the location
is a bit removed from Bellevue city one of the main reasons to stay here is to
get a good nights sleep at a reasonable price. Now it is not often very warm in
Seattle but some nights I stayed it was 80F+. The air conditioning unit was
incredibly loud. It was like trying to sleep with a car running in the room. It
baffles me why hotels install noisy air conditioning units that upset the key
reason for staying in the hotel which is to sleep.
There was a restaurant on site but very few people there in the evenings. Had an
okay selection of sandwiches and burgers. Too quiet for my liking though.
One note for elderly people who like to walk is that the hill to Bellevue is
quite steep.
All in all it is an okay good average hotel. I would stay again if I didn't need
to use the air conditioner - although my first choice would be to stay closer to
Bellevue city.

First off, I do stay at other "Red Lion" properties and they are not consistent.
Meaning the other one is actually much nicer. This hotel - well it's making an
effort at country chic, I think. Not my style. The rooms are fine, even if I
don't like the decor. The lounge has a good selection of food and drink items
and they have a happy hour and personable bartenders. Lots of road-warriors.
Free parking, outdoor pool were appreciated.

We stayed in a non-smoking hotel room, however the room smelled faintly of
smoke. There was also a mix of 'very old' and mildew smell in the room.
There were stains on the curtains and shower curtains. Made me feel gross every
time I needed to close either of them. The sheets were clean, except for the odd
hairs I found on my pillow case. (Which did gross me out). One of the blankets
was clearly old and worn and should have just been thrown out. My husband and I
kept having to pull the bed sheets down on the mattress since they would slip
off every time we laid down on the bed. We had a 'do not disturb' sign on our
door most of the time, but it was nice to see housekeeping eager to check and
see if we needed any fresh towels, or our bed sheets changed.
The a/c didn't put out a lot of cold air, which we had on all day, and really
only got cold around 3 am. (You had to play with the a/c controls to get
somewhat cold air pumping out of it.) A few days into our trip the a/c started
making really loud noises and then completely stopped working. It's obvious this
a/c is very old. We didn't bother to rectify the a/c since we were leaving in a
couple days anyways. Unfortunately this hotel/motel is close to the highway so
when you had your balcony door open it was noisy.
The wifi is free, moderately fast and easy to connect too.
The heated pool was well kept, with a good amount of tables and lawn chairs.
There was lots of parking.
Overall the hotel wasn't a nightmare but it wasn't perfect either. I would
prefer a hotel that kept fresher, newer bed sheets (not ones that were clearly
worn down). There was an old, grungy feeling when you were in the room. If i had
to stay here again I wouldn't be devastated, but I would rather try a different
hotel next time. |
