Cultural Arts
New in 2006, Kent Arts Commission teamed with Kent Lions Club to bring cultural
arts activities to Cornucopia Days. These fun and educational opportunities
continue in 2008 and include Main Stage entertainment, a Juried Summer Art
Exhibit, Juried Fine Crafts Market, and a Children's Area and Family Stage.
Cornucopia Days will be held at the new mixed-use urban village, Kent Station
(417 Ramsay Way) and in downtown Kent.
Kent Lions Street Fair
This 18-block street fair is the hallmark of Cornucopia days. There are over 600
vendors from around the country featuring great food, handcrafted items and
commercial vendors. The street fair includes two food courts that will satisfy
every appetite and a full size carnival and midway with over 20 rides and
special section just for kids, presented by Funtastic Shows.
Miss Cornucopia
One of the activities within the Kent Cornucopia Day Festival is the selection
and reign of "Miss Cornucopia." The winner represents the Kent Cornucopia Days,
Kent Lions Club and the greater Kent community locally and all around the Puget
Sound region.
Old Timers King & Queen
The Kent Historical Society selects one man and one woman each year to represent
the Kent community with long-time ties to the history of Kent. This couple
reigns during the year as Kent's very own "Old Timers King and Queen."
Kent "Cornucopia Cup" Soccer Tournament
Will take place at Pea Patch, Wilson Playfields, Kentwood and Kent-Meridian High
School.
Kent Cornucopia Days Grand Parade
The parade starts at 2 pm on Sunday. The parade route is from Willis Street to
James Street in downtown Kent.
Dragon Boat Races
Now the largest race in the State of Washington, the Cornucopia Dragon Boat
races will take place on Lake Meridian, 14800 SE 272nd Street in Kent.
