Come and experience the history of Lynnwood from its roots as Alderwood Manor in the 1920's. Heritage Park features some of Alderwood Manor's earliest structures in various stages of renovation:

The Wickers Building
Constructed in 1919 by the Puget Mill Company, the Wickers Building was originally known as the Main Store. The first Alderwood Manor Post Office opened in the store in 1920. The two story Tudor-style building included a store and storeroom on the first floor, with living quarters for the storekeeper and his family on the second floor. The building was moved from its original site on 196th St SW in 1997 when freeway interchange construction threatened to demolish it. In 2003 it was relocated to Heritage Park and renovation was completed. The Wickers Building is listed on the Historical American Buildings Survey in the Library of Congress and the Washington Register of Historic Places. It is currently home of the South Snohomish County Visitor Information Center.

Interurban Trolley Car 55
Car 55 is a 1909 Interurban single-ended wooden electric rail car. It is one of six cars that provided commuter service from Alderwood Manor to Seattle and Everett from 1910 to 1939. In 1939, with the growing popularity of the automobile, the Seattle-Everett Interurban railway was dismantled. Car 55 was purchased by the City of Lynnwood in 1993 and restoration began in 1996. The trolley is a static display in the Park representing Lynnwood's transportation heritage and in open for scheduled tours.

Alderwood Manor Heritage Cottage and Water Tower
The 1917 Alderwood Manor Heritage Cottage and the Water Tower are the only surviving structures from the Alderwood Manor Demonstration Farm. The Cottage was the residence for the superintendent of the Demonstration Farm, and is owned by the Alderwood Manor Heritage Associattion, (AMHA). In 1977 the Cottage and Water Tower were threatened with demolition during freeway interchange construction. They were purchased by the City of Lynnwood and AMHA and moved to Heritage Park in 2003 for renovation. The Cottage will open summer 2005 as a community heritage resource center operated by the AMHA. The Water Tower will be renovated by the City in a future phase of development.

The Humble House
Heritage Park's original residence was build in 1919. Located across from the Demonstration Farm, this house is typical of those built by the Puget Mill Company for their employees at the time. When renovation is completed, in the summer of 2005, the Humble House will be the home of the Sno-Isle Genealogical Society's library and resource center.
