The Woodlands was the first of two distinct championship courses built at The
Golf Club at Hawks Prairie. True to its name, it is carved out of dense,
Northwest forest and stretches from 5600 to 7170 yards depending on which of the
four tees you choose to play.
The Golf Club at Hawks Prairie consists of two distinct, public 18-hole golf
courses: The Woodlands and The Links .
The Woodlands
opened in 1995, The Woodlands spans 415 acres with narrow fairways meandering
through dense forest, and is consistently ranked in the top 10 most challenging
courses in the state. A fourth set of tees was added in 1998 to offer a more
manageable alternative for high-handicappers.
The Links
In April of 1999, a second 18-hole championship course was opened, creating one
of the most unique and exciting 36-hole facilities in the Pacific Northwest.
Designed by Peter L.H. Thompson, The Links boasts spectacular views of the Puget
Sound and Mt. Rainier, with open fairways and lush rolling hills -- a stark
contrast to its wooded counterpart. Much like its sister course, golfers will
find The Links to be a fitting name for this Scottish-style links course, which
features expansive fairways, rolling greens, beautiful views of Mt. Rainier and
five sets of tees for golfers of all playing abilities.
The Talon Grill at The Golf Club at Hawks Prairie
Situated atop the fairways of The Links Course at Hawks Prairie, The Talon Grill
is a great place to enjoy before and after-round meals, as well as everyday
dining. Open year-round, the restaurant is known for its comfortable golf
atmosphere, varied menu and quality service.
