Washington is the second largest wine producing state in the U.S. and is ranked
among the world's top wine growing regions.
The wine regions of Southwest Washington and the Columbia River Gorge have a
unique microclimate where cool, marine air from the Columbia River is met by
warm air from eastern Washington providing excellent grape growing conditions.
Today, there are more than 15 wineries (with new labels continuing to spring up)
producing Chardonnay, Riesling, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot, Pinot Gris,
Pinot Noir and Zinfandel varietals.Visitors to Southwest Washington can spend
the day on a tour of the Columbia River Gorge appellation where rolling hillside
vineyards and wineries dot the landscape. To get there, take State Route 14 east
along the Columbia River.

wineries and vineyards. Clark County is home to three premium wineries and a
number of tasting rooms which host free tasting and events throughout the year.

English Estate Winery makes a wide variety of award-winning wines from its own
Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards. The winemaker, Carl English, takes
great pride in the art of wine grape growing and wine-making. The quaint

Bethany Vineyard and Winery produces wines with distinct flavor and character.
Visit the winery and tasting room and bring a picnic lunch or have them prepare
one for you, then take a stroll through the beautiful lakeside vineyard. Open

RUSTY GRAPE VINEYARD

Rusty Grape Vineyard is the newest vineyard to the area. The winery produces
Pinot Noir, Cabernet, Pinot Gris, and Syrah varietals. An outdoor seasonal
amphitheater offers special event movie nights where guests can sip wine, watch
a movie, and order appetizers off a menu. Open every Saturday, from noon to 6:00
p.m. and by appointment.
