Georgia Ave East Wenatchee, WA 98802 Phone: (509) 884-8015 www.eastmontparks.com Eastmont Metropolitan Parks & Recreation manages 44 acres of parks and seven miles of scenic Columbia River waterfront asphalt trail (The Apple Capital Loop Trail) in East Wenatchee, WA. The East Wenatchee parks house baseball, basketball, soccer, and football fields; horseshoe pits, lighted basketball and tennis courts, playgrounds, walking and biking trails, a radio control car race track, and an indoor swimming pool. Organized recreation offerings include indoor and outdoor sports leagues, sports camps, specialized day camps, and a full range of aquatics activities. The Eastmont YMCA Aquatic Center located at 980 NE 3rd St in East Wenatchee, WA (map) is a public facility owned by Douglas County, operated by the Wenatchee Valley YMCA, and available to the general public. Eastmont Community Park The Eastmont Community Park is located at N. Georgia Ave and Grant Rd in East Wenatchee, WA (map) and houses the Eastmont Metropolitan Parks & Recreation office. The park features the Eastmont YMCA Aquatic Center, a sports field, a four-diamond baseball park, 4 picnic shelters, a horseshoe pit, a walking trail, a children's playground, basketball and tennis courts, 3 restroom facilities, the Eastmont Radio Car Racetrack and the Timmy St. Vincent Memorial. This 26-acre park is the most utilized park in the Eastmont Metropolitan Parks & Recreation district. Park and organized sports programs held in the park account for about 160,000 visitors per year to East Wenatchee. Special events held at the park have included the Washington State Olympics; Wings & Wheels Festival; Community Easter Egg Hunt; the Northwest Volleyball Tournament; local, district, state and regional sports tournaments; and the annual Classy Chassis Parade and staging area. Kenroy Park in Wenatchee Kenroy Park is located at N. James Ave & 8th St NE in East Wenatchee, WA (map) and features two picnic shelters and a playground. The land for the park was donated by Kenneth Randle and Roy McMahon in 1960. Contained within its five acres is playground equipment for children which was donated by the Apple Valley Kiwanis. Kenroy Park is a great place to take children for some carefree time. Primarily used by the neighbors in the area, Sterling Middle School students, and youth soccer teams during peak league participation. Kenroy Park usually affords a peaceful place to have a midday picnic or a setting for reading a book or quiet reflection. Tedford Park in Wenatchee Tedford Park is located at 1st St SE & S. Jarvis Ave (map) in East Wenatchee, WA and features a sports field, a baseball diamond, lots of shade trees, restroom facilities, and picnic tables. Tedford Park is a great place to spend an active day, and is an equally perfect location to relax while reading or reflecting. The land for Tedford Park was donated in 1960 by Duane Tedford in memory of his father, Roy Tedford. This 14-acre facility is primarily used by organized sports and the neighborhood. There are restrooms and picnic tables available, as well as the sports field, complete with a baseball feild with dug-outs and bleachers. Greater Wenatchee Babe Ruth, Big River Youth Soccer and Eastmont High School are the primary users of this field. |
