We had a great rate to stay here and knew Renaissance is Marriott's luxury hotel
brand. The hotel turned out to exceed our needs. We were staying for just a nice
before driving to Canada. The hotel shows that it's recently been renovated with
great furniture throughout the lobby and guest room. The staff is really
friendly even though we felt they were understaffed when we arrived and had to
wait in line while the desk attendants were helping others with directions.
Hotel parking was convenient underground. Based on Tripadvisor reviews, we asked
for a room away from the 5 Freeway which meant it was quiet -- we were across
from the city courthouse. We also had drinks in the bar at night and thought it
was a nice lounge, quiet on a weekend.

Spent 2 nights and was very pleased with very friendly service, updated
comfortable rooms. We were in a west facing room and had no complaints about
noise. Parking was $30 + $5 taxes which seemed very pricey.

I stayed here in the Fall for a conference. The hotel was chosen for its "green"
practices, which are commendable and worth a mention. Like most places, they
still have a ways to go in that direction, but they have many practices that go
beyond just low flow toilets and not changing the sheets and towells every day
unless asked.
Aside from that, they were one of the nicer hotels I've stayed at in Seattle.
I'm a government employee, and when we travel we almost always get the least
desirable rooms as we pay the gov't rate. Mine was in the back of the building,
close to both the elevator and the ice machine, overlooking the freeway and the
city street, yet it was very quiet and very comfortable. The rooms are all set
up suite style, and I must say the bed was as comfy as any I've slept in. Could
I have found a way to get it in my suitcase, I might have been guilty of hotel
theft.
In addition, the hotel has a nice restaurant with a great view, and the food was
very good and reasonably priced, with very nice wait staff.
Staff at this hotel were outstanding, too, from the wait staff at the restaurant
to the check-in staff to the doormen. Helpful, friendly, considerate, efficient,
responsive. You can always tell a hotel that is good to work for; people seemed
happy to be at their jobs and to really make an effort. Our conference
facilities, too, were excellent. Even the food served at the conference was a
cut above. I wasn't involved in setting it up, so I can't speak to how easy they
were to work with, but if the flawless service and really delicious food (and I
know we got the least expensive options, because that's a requirement) were any
indications, if ever I need to set one of these things up in Seattle, they will
be my first choice.

Hotel is conveniently located downtown. Walking distance to Pike's market, the
Wharf and to Qwest Field or Safeco Field. Rooms are nice and clean. Nice open
lounge area downstairs that serves Starbucks ($). Staff very friendly and
helpful. Had an issue with the fridge in the room and it was fixed right away.
If you can get a room on the other side of the hotel from the highway, it is
less noisy. Would stay here again.

The Renaissance Hotel in Seattle, WA is an excellent place to stay on business.
The rooms are large and comfortable and the hotel is equipped with all of the
usual amenities--fitness center, restaurant, lounge, etc. What makes this hotel
particularly outstanding, however, is the concierge. He made restaurant
reservations for me on multiple nights and all of recommendations were superb.
The hotel is within easy walking distance of nearly everything in downtown
Seattle. If I had one complaint about this hotel, it's that it charges for
internet access in the rooms.

I spent three nights at the Renaissance Hotel in Seattle. The rooms were well
supplied. The bed was very comfortable and spacious. I only had two complaints:
(1) This hotel is noisy. It is adjacent to Interstate 5 and I had a hard time
sleeping at night. For this reason alone, I would probably not stay there unless
I could get a room on the western side of the hotel. I heard traffic at all
hours of the night.
(2) The concierge lounge is way too small for the number of business guests they
have. We had very little space to sit down and eat. The concierge staff was very
attentive.
This is a nice hotel...but I need peace and quiet when I sleep.

My husband and I spent 2 nights at the Renaissance, November 8-10th.
We found it on Hotwire for $88 per night US which was a pretty good deal.
At first we were given a room which was too noisy as it was overlooking the
highway, but we had no problem having our room switched to the other side.
It was on the top of the hill, but no problem at all walking to Pike Place
Market.
You really do avoid the steep climb back uphill if you walk back from a couple
of blocks over.
Great deal on Monday - Friday in the rooftop lounge. From 4-7 pm they offered
certain appetizers for only $2 each, and certain drinks at reduced prices also.
My husband and I went there before our dinner reservation and really enjoyed the
great view watching the sunset and the water in the distance.
The concierge was very helpful. He made our dinner reservations for us at
a really cool restaurant called "Purple" which I had checked out prior through
trip advisor. It was just a short walk away. When we got to the restaurant we
were pleasantly surprised to find out the concierge had ordered us a free
appetizer.
The pool and hot tub area of the hotel were quite enjoyable also. It's on the
same
floor at the lounge and has a great view.
The first night we had a nice dinner at Tulio which is very close to the hotel.
It was a cozy Italian restaurant.

Stayed here for 3 nights and nothing stands out that was overwhelmingly negative
or overwhelmingly positive. The location is good - but be warned, the walk to
the waterfront is down a very very steep hill. The room was nice, very
comfortable bed, also nice tv and sitting area, refrigerator, everything seemed
new and well placed. The water pressure in the shower could be improved, but it
was ok. Good service and nice views on the 28th.
