We had stayed at this same hotel in Oct 2009, and really liked all it offered.
Short distance to UW, free shuttle service downtown, free secure covered
parking, swimming pool, workout area, free basic breakfast with a view of the
lake and convenient use of the in house computers. The front desk staff were
very helpful and the shuttle drivers went beyond what we expected. So when I
came back out in September to visit my daughter at UW, I stayed at the same
place. This time I booked a King bed and requested a fireplace if available. I
called in Monday when my flight landed to see if I could arrive early. It was
several hours before check-in time, and the room was not available yet. However
they said I could check back in a couple hours. In the end it was late afternoon
before I made it to the hotel. I was so delighted with the room! A side view of
the lake/harbor and a fireplace with a mini bar and King bed. My daughter came
by and said WOW ! What a room! It was wonderful to be able to relax there during
my visit. And the room was clean! Thanks for making my stay so nice!

My husband and I stayed here this year because we had such a great experience 3
years ago at the same hotel. Sure, it's pricey--but the hotel has free parking
and a shuttle at your service. We had a room overlooking the lake and really
enjoyed our stay. If we get to Seattle again, we'll be sure to stay here.

The Silver Cloud rooms were comfortable. Our Crockery in one of our rooms had
lipstick on it! The free wireless internet was ridiculously slow.
The hotel is not central to anything for tourists, but they did provide a free
shuttle, which was good.

We loved this hotel - it's a great price for the city. The free shuttle to
downtown hot spots (plus free parking) was invaluable.Hotel Review of the Silver Cloud Inn Lake Union

This was a great find. Rooms clean & comfortable beds. We stayed 4 days & then
went to Whistler & Victoria & back to Silver Cloud. We stayed in 343 the first
time & when we came back we stayed in 743. The room had 2 queens, fridge,
microwave, free wifi, near the elevators & ice machine. It also had a washer &
dryer.
the staff are outstanding. There are restaurants within walking distance. We
tried the sushi restaurant outstanding.
The rates were very good. Shuttle is great. Transportation is free certain time
of the day.
It is a real find. Would stay there again. Breakfast was very good. |

Reasonable rates and lots of room. My son had friends in to visit, and it was
great having a separate room and second tv so adults and kids could all be
entertained after we'd finished swimming in the pool. Staff was very friendly
even though there were so many of us trooping through the lobby to the pool and
back. We found free parking on the street nearby, although it was only free
because it was a weekend. |

For a very reasonable price, you get a large room with a microwave and fridge,
comfortable beds, free parking and internet and a continental breakfast. The
location is great, right across the street from Lake Union and within walking
distance of 6 restaurants. The free hotel shuttle will take you to the 3 major
tourist areas (Seattle Center, Pike Market and Pioneer Square) and pick you up
when you call. Add to all of this friendly, helpful staff and one of the best
gyms we've come across. |

My wife & I stayed here with friends over the long Memorial Day weekend and had
a great experience. The rooms are modern but comfortable, the staff is attentive
but not intrusive, and while the hotel is not conveniently walk able from most
Seattle sights, a free shuttle that leaves twice an hour will get you almost
wherever you want to go. We appreciated the lake view (you have to pay a little
extra for it) as you can see all of the sea planes take off & land on Lake Union
and get nice sunsets to boot. While the free breakfast was the same each day,
you can't beat the price. We would stay here again without hesitation, and
recommend it highly. |

Stayed here for the weekend after our Alaskan cruise. Room was large and very
comfortable ,nice flat screened TV, Aveeda toiletries (yeah!). The breakfast
room was very nice and the selection of breakfast items was pretty impressive.
Front desk personnel were very helpful. The hotel shuttle was fantastic, they
will drop you off in any of 3 different sections of town (Space Needle,
downtown, or Pioneer Square ),you call them when you are ready to go back to the
hotel. The service runs from early morning until around 10 or 11pm. |

I stayed here with my 12 year old son in order to visit family in Seattle. This
hotel was recommended to me by my sister who lives in Seattle and it was
absolutely perfect for our needs. One of the main benefits was the free parking
- I hadn't been to Seattle in a long time but found the parking in the centre to
be quite expensive and a bit of a hassle; the hotel shuttle service was
absolutely fantastic. They dropped us off exactly where we wanted to go and with
a phone call back to the hotel they would pick us up pretty much wherever we
were. The shuttle drivers were also great as ad hoc tour guides!
The room was excellent -- large, comfortable and absolutely pristine in terms of
cleanliness. They did not tend to replace the toiletries unless I asked (we
stayed for nearly a week so we had used them up well before the end of our stay)
but when asked they would supply whatever you asked, no hassle.
The view of Lake Union was great - at first when you get there it seems a bit
odd, the place looks like a soulless anodyne apartment block and you are just
looking onto some yacht repair yard over the road but in fact the view at night
is fantastic, and during the day seeing the seaplanes take off and land is quite
something. I would recommend booking a 'view' room to that end. There are a few
nice restaurants over the road, a sushi place which I did not try, and a bit
further down a couple of really nice seafood places. I think we went to
Chandlers Quay or something like that? It was very nice. Also, rather bizarrely,
a Hooters, which I did not try, thought I had an interesting time explaining the
whole concept of said establishment to my son.
The breakfast was just OK, I did notice that the fresh fruit seemed to go early
on (I was jet-lagged the whole time so saw the very early shift as well as later
on) without being replenished, and you were left with the usual carb-heavy
choices of make-your-own waffles, english muffins, toast, etc as well as
cereals. The juice was good. Coffee and tea available all the time and the use
of the pool and fitness suite was very good.
There is a business centre so you can use the internet freely and this includes
use of a printer which was handy for printing directions, airline boarding
cards, etc. I think this may be fairly standard in American hotels but coming
from Europe this seemed very civilized indeed!
All in all, this is a great place to stay which is away from the centre of
Seattle but still near enough to be handy for all the sights you would want to
see, particularly with the use of the free shuttle service.
Anyone with kids should go to the REI store a few minutes drive away for the
fantastic climbing wall, they do taster climbs for very little money and the
staff are so friendly and enthusiastic. |

A small hotel but it is priced reasonable.
the location is steps away from the waterfront of lake union.
it has shuttle service to downtown.
the room size is large.
Cons: not much facility. do not provide you all bath supply, you need to buy it
from its mini gift shop!! |
