We stayed here for our first visit ever to Seattle. The hotel is very classy
place and we got a great, quiet room in the middle of the hotel. it seems to be
in a good past of town with a 20 minute walk of Pike market (there is also a
periodic free shuttle bus available). The only downsides were the fairly basic,
continental breafast and the relatively high overnight parking rate of $16 plus
tax.

This hotel was in a great location for visiting anyone living near the
University of Washington. Pluses included a nice continental breakfast, a nice
size room, and polite, helpful employees. The gym, pool and free parking were
also pluses. I felt, however, that the hotel was fairly expensive for the
quality of the room which needed updating. New carpeting would go a long way.
Overall, the stay was pleasant however and if the room was less expensive I
would recommend it.

When we first pulled up and I saw how close we were to the hospital, all I could
think of was, "Oh, no." I am a very poor hotel sleeper and all I could think
about was how tired I was and how much I needed to be able to sleep. BUT, this
hotel was like an oasis in the middle of an urban area. My family and I have
stayed at a lot of hotels and I think this one is excellent. The staff was super
friendly, knowledgeable and they really took care of us. Additionally, the
restaurant, "Cayenne," was pretty darn good and the wait staff treated us so
well that we ate there a lot. Overall, an excellent experience and I would
definitely stay there again should we make it to Seattle again. Make sure to get
the top floor -- maybe that helped our situation. Also, for the kids, there's a
really nice pool to unwind after a long day of walking. Oh, and before I forget,
they have a free shuttle with the nicest drivers -- truly, it was a great deal,
and if we knew then what we know now, we would not have rented a car -- we never
used it except to get from the airport and then to the airport. A huge waste of
money!

Silver Cloud Inns are reliably good quality. I've stayed in 3 different silver
clouds, and all are well managed, clean, comfortable, quiet, with friendly
staff. Our room was outstanding. Very upscale amenities such as large flat
screen TV, granite countertops, cherry woodwork, and very comfortable bed.
Very good service. Room clean, well furnished and comfortable. Good variety of
food in the Continental breakfast. Great location.Hotel Review of the Silver Cloud Inn University

The beds are sort of uncomfortable and it isn’t the newest hotel in the world,
but the people are friendly and its in a great location so I still like staying
there.
We stayed so we could be close to Children’s Hospital for an early morning
appointment for our daughter. The staff was friendly and helpful, setting up a
baby bed in our room for us while we went out for dinner. Highly recommend this
hotel, the price is on the high end, but if you get the expedia special rate of
around $100 it is a good deal.

Everyone I encounter behind the desk acted cold and indifferent. It appeared
that they were more interested in surfing the internet than answering general
hotel questions. While I found the front desk customer service skills terrible,
the housekeeping staff did a nice job and were always friendly.
As I was preparing to leave, I saw a Silver Cloud customer service survey in the
room. I filled one out highlighting both my positive and negative thoughts. I
guess management (or the hotel in general) just throws them away. As of today,
I’ve received no indication that my concerns were ever received. Don’t have
comment cards if you don’t want to hear what your guests have to say. To me,
customer service is a big deal and it appears the staff and management does not
care to make any improvements.

A decent medium-size hotel within walking distance of the University of
Washington, and an upscale mall with many restaurants. Rooms are fairly large
have big HDTV's. Good small indoor pool and hot tub.
Tolerable breakfast included in rate, but the breakfast room tends to be
unpleasantly crowded.

I stayed at the Silver Cloud almost 3 weeks under some heavy circumstances, one
member of my French family being hospitalized at the University Hospital.
The staff was always kind to me, helpful, smiling. The rooms had nothing
extravagant, but were very practical, quiet and clean. At last, the hotel is
well situated, not far from the Huskies stadium, the hospital and the University
village, where you'll find any convenient store.

I haven't stayed at many hotels in Seattle however I travel a lot and this hotel
is very nice. This is my 2nd time staying here within a 10 month period and I
always feel safe in and out of the hotel. They have wine and appetizers on
Tuesday evening 5:30-6:30 which is really nice. It was also nice to see some of
the same staff members still working here from the last time I stayed here. |
