Hotel Vintage Park Seattle Guest Reviews
May 17, 2010
I was looking for a reasonably priced hotel in downtown Seattle with good
reviews on Trip Advisor for the start of our trip to the Pacific Northwest, and
decided on the Hotel Vintage Park. We paid $112 + taxes per night for a King
Premier Room for a 3 night stay in mid May, which I booked through the hotel's
website.
The hotel is in a great location in downtown Seattle, close to all public
transportation. We decided not to get a rental car and took the light rail from
the airport to University station, which is about 2 blocks from the hotel
(although you have a steep uphill climb between 3rd and 4th). The light rail was
bargain at only $5/person for the round trip. Compare to paying $30/night for
valet parking at the hotel. Seattle has a great public transportation system for
tourists and we rode the free buses in the downtown area or walked to all of the
sights.
The hotel room was really big, and included a sitting area with a couch, chair
and desk. Free wifi in the room (only if you sign up to be a Kimpton rewards
member). The bed was really comfortable with great pillows and duvet. The room
was clean...the only sign of wear was some mould along the grout lines in the
shower, and a slightly dinged up coffee table in the sitting area. There is no
free breakfast, but plenty of coffee shops in the area of the hotel. The hotel
also offers a free wine tasting in the lobby every night from 5-6 pm which was a
really nice touch.
I would definitely recommend this hotel as a comfortable place to stay in
downtown Seattle. The room rate was outstanding, and bumped my overall
recommendation from very good to excellent.Apr 22, 2010
It's location might not be as convenient as some for the leisure
traveler...depending on one's interests. Hotel Vintage Park is located
diagonally across the intersection from the main branch of the Seattle Public
Library (a contemporary architectural attraction) and two blocks south of the
5th Avenue Theater. We thoroughly enjoyed the onsite restaurant, Tulio's, both
for dinner and breakfast. The front desk staff and bellmen were always pleasant
and helpful. Housekeeping actually honors the "towel on the floor, towel
hanging" choice for the replacement of linens. We were upgraded to a king
premier room which was spacious and tastefully decorated. Bed, pillows and bed
linens were high quality and comfortable. The hotel offers wine tasting between
5-6 PM. We spent two nights at Hotel Vintage Park and were allowed to check in
about 1:00 PM on the first day and out at 12 noon on the third day. We would
happily return again.

Booked this hotel for my Easter trip to Seattle through expedia.com. For the
price offered, all other options were two star, so I was surprised to find
Vintage Park. Read a little about it here on trip advisor before booking, and
the response seemed overwhelmingly positive - which was not without reason.
I came from across the pond, and arrived in late and shattered. In the lobby I
was met with a big smile and really pleasant, easy going young staff. Stayed
five nights in a King Premier room, which was big enough for me to put up a
circus tent. The bed was huge and comfortable, everything was neat and clean,
and there was no street noise of any significance, so I slept like a baby every
night. Signed up for the free Kimpton InTouch program before arriving, which
meant access to really fast internet, and a few other goodies. Every afternoon
there is a complimentary wine tasting session in the lobby, which became a
pleasant daily pit stop for me, where I got the chance to chitchat a little with
the ever friendly staff, and enjoy some fine Washington produce.
The hotel as an excellent location (right across the street from the Seattle
Public Library) and is in walking distance of everything worth to see in
downtown Seattle, from Qwest Field to the Space Needle.
I can't recommend Hotel Vintage Park enough. Not a single thing annoyed or
inconvenienced me here, and that is a first for me. On the contrary it is
terrific value for money, and has the most genuinely pleasant staff.

My family had three rooms booked at the Vintage Park. The longest of us stayed
for 6 nights. We were staying on the 9th and 11th floors. At night I realized
that our room heated up during the evening and the ventilation system would not
function. I barely slept that night. In the morning I went to the front desk and
complained. The lady said that maintenance would look at it. Over breakfast, I
found out that our other two rooms had the same problem. Later that afternoon. I
walked in on the maintenance man who had changed the thermostat. He said that
the thermostat was faulty. That night the problem was just as bad. The second
morning, I went back to the front desk and complained to another lady. She just
shrugged her shoulders and said nothing. I asked if we could change rooms. She
replied that she only had a small room on the second floor. We decided to stay
in our first room when she dispatched maintenance yet again. It still didn't
work.
We opened the windows, but the down town noise was just as bad as the heat. I
hardly slept in 6 days. There was never any follow up to see if the problem had
been rectified.
This is a wonderful hotel in all other ways. Cleanliness, location, friendly
staff... However, a good nights sleep is most important for me when I choose a
hotel. I know that this is an older building and that a fix to this problem is
probably very hard. However, the front desk staff that I spoke with should have
tried harder to make our stay comfortable.
As a Kimpton In Touch Member, I know that Kimpton works very hard on gaining new
customers and building customer loyalty. I'm surprised that the Vintage Park
hasn't trained some of their staff better to deal with problems.
If you are a lighter sleeper, who is affected by heat and noise, I would
encourage you to stay elsewhere.

Wonderfully cozy hotel. The entire staff was exceptional... kind and polite...
very attentive in all aspects. Tastefully decorated, nice amenities, great
location for venturing out in the downtown area. Their evening wine tasting in
the lobby is a nice touch and gives you a chance to sample Washington's great
wines. We highly recommend The Vintage Park and would return without thinking
twice! |
