Hotel Review of the Eighth Avenue Inn Seattle

I just returned from an overnight trip in Seattle. The hotel was sufficient for
what we paid - $59 after taxes. I will admit that it was a little sketchy
looking. It was a small room with a double bed, the bathroom was kind of gross
looking with a rusting mirror and the shower was a single stall with no tub. I
think you get what you pay for at the 8th Avenue Inn. The hotel is in a great
location close to shopping, the space needle, etc. We didn't have any problems
during our stay. It was just the furniture/rusting/chipped tiles that made our
stay unappealing

My husband and I stayed here during our trip to Seattle only because it was the
least expensive and we would only be using the room to sleep. It was old... the
room was clean but that’s it. the bathroom had wallpaper ripped off in some
sections and there was a weird hole in the wall near the ceiling (which I made
my husband cover during our stay). It was only a 20 minute walk (because of the
hills!) to the piers, which was nice. And I felt pretty safe there so that’s
good. The staff was helpful in directing us around downtown and I might stay
there again if I knew our plans would keep us out of the room in the daytime.
Overall, not a bad experience (just a cheap one). |

The location was amazing! Just a short walk to the Space Needle, the harbor,
Pike Place Market, etc. The hotel isn’t fancy at all, but has free breakfast and
was pretty quiet. If you’re looking for a bargain and don’t want to hang out in
your hotel too much, I’d definitely recommend. |

This hotel was about eight blocks away from the convention center. It wasn’t too
far of a walk although many streets in between were fairly deserted and didn’t
seem particularly safe at night. If you bring a vehicle, please know that there
are numerous one-way streets in this district and that you will be charged daily
for parking on their lot. The fitness center is a plus but it’s really just a
small to medium size room with three treadmills and no weights or other
equipment. I was a little surprised that there were no clean rooms available
when I checked in since it was already after 4 p.m. but otherwise the staff was
friendly. During my four day stay, they actually had breakfast over at the hotel
next door (who shall not be named...Google it!) each morning. They had a great
variety of options (eggs, meats, cheese, English muffins and sandwich bread,
orange and apple juice, coffee, tea, cereal, milk, make your own Belgian
waffles). |

I got this room for $48 plus fees on Hotwire (2* hotel Space Needle zone). After
reading the reviews here I was concerned about this place but my fears were
largely unfounded.
This is a solid 2* hotel with no frills: a small but clean room that was cheaply
furnished but the bed was comfortable enough and there was also a microwave and
fridge (a nice plus). Plus you get free wifi and a decent complimentary
continental breakfast in the morning. They charge $10 for parking (cheesy!!) but
for less than $75 total it's a hard to beat price considering you're in the
downtown core of the city.
