Hotel Review of the Holiday Inn Seattle

First, you need to know that the Holiday Inn Express is right next to the Holiday Inn hotel. Different check-in and parking areas.

When we arrived after a long day of flying to the Emerald City, we were greeted by friendly and thoroughly professional staff. I am a Priority Club member, a a fact that was not lost on the staff (it said so on my reservation). The Lobby was light and spacious and our room was very clean and modern/up-to-date with the amenities of a refrigerator, microwave and sink. Our room overlooked Dexter Avenue and although a rather busy street, it was quiet and we slept well.

Being somewhat jet-lagged, we opted for the restaurant at the hotel our first night. A thoroughly pleasant surprise. The food was good, and the staff friendly and attentive. This also turned out to be just as true in the morning breakfast as well. We ordered room service after our first night here. Room service was equally timely, friendly, and the food was quite good.

Located just across from the Seattle Center, it was well located for our daily excursions around town for the various sights we wanted to see. A morning walk to Queen Anne Hill got the morning started with views of the city, the Space Needle, and the Mountain (when it's out).

About the parking in the underground garage...not for the timid. The compact car spaces are designed for just that...compact cars. I assume the spaces on the lower level are larger, but I never had a problem finding a space on the upper level (I was driving a compact rental car). But if you are driving a "land-yacht," like the 1970's Cadillac Fleetwood I saw shoe-horned into a "compact car" space on the upper level, you are going to find parking a challenge. Trust me. It will be easier to have other riders wait for you in the lobby, which is easy to reach once you leave the garage.

We had three very pleasant nights here and wanted to stay here again on our last night in Seattle a week later, but they were already booked for the weekend. We would definitely return here again based on our experience.

Plus - large king suites, attentive staff, bar in hotel, everything in the city is a quick cab ride away Negs - off street parking, but below the building - dicey, lousy neighborhood, overpriced for what you get

We found this Holiday Inn to be a reasonable place to stay if on a budget and if you plan to spend minimal time in the room. It is not too far from the attractions and provides a comfortable clean bed (although the floor could have been a little cleaner)
Having said that, it was basic and adequate and not luxurious. We discovered that there were better choices if you are willing to shell out another 40 or so dollars per night. We'd recommend staying here if saving money is a priority.

So many smiles on so many faces. The people that work here put this hotel head and shoulders above the rest.

Good solid hotel. Rooms were spacious and clean. Shower was good and room had a mini fridge which is one of my top things I want in the room. We got two rooms and both were the same. Not a fabulous view from either room, in fact we were looking at a brick wall, but since we priceline'd the rooms for $75 a night, this was to be expected. It was a bit of a walk to the Space Needle, about 5 blocks, but nothing extreme. All the girls went to dinner at SkyCity, the dads stayed home with the kids, and we made the walk back to the hotel at 11:30 on a Saturday night. It's not a scary area at all and we felt very comfy walking by ourselves. They're pretty helpful at the front desk. When we couldn't get a bottle of wine open with the flimsy hotel corkscrew, they sent me and my wine over to the lounge where the bartender happily opened it for me with a real corkscrew and sent me on my way back up to the room. My only complaint is that they don't appear to have any bell service at all. We had to haul all our bags to the room ourselves. Parking was affordable ($10 a night) but the spaces were so close that we worried we couldn't get into the car. Overall, this is a good quality hotel. Nothing special, but perfectly acceptable. I'd stay there again.

I've stayed at Holiday Inn 3 times in the past 30 days and although there are some consistency this one was a bit off. The room that we opted for was a queen with a separate room with bunk beds for the kids (teenagers). The room was extremely tight although the kids room was nice enough. The bathroom was in their room so that was a small inconvenience. I would definitely not recommend the second floor facing Dexter Avenue - very noisy even though we specifically asked the front desk clerk if the room was quiet. typically they give you a water or something to say thanks for being a priority club member but instead we received a % off a bottle of wine. There was no free breakfast either which again after staying in 2 other Holiday Inns in two other states it seemed like I was cheated. I'm not crazy about the Express breakfast but it is something and one of the reasons why I booked Holiday Inn.
The location is close to several key things, downtown, space needle, Pikes Market but the immediate surroundings are industrial.
Overall not a do over for next time.

I recently stayed at this hotel and was pleasantly surprised by how nice it was. I stay at many Holiday Inns and HI Expresses, and this is definitely one of the nicest. I was put on the 6th floor executive level (probably because I use HI so often for business), which included a free continental breakfast and internet access, which were both great to have. The breakfast wasn't much, but since it was free I'm not complaining. The beds were comfortable (although I don't like HI pillows in general, these included), the room was very clean, everything was new, and the shampoo and lotion were Bath and Body Works. The location is very convenient to Seattle Center (Space Needle, EMP, etc.) but a bit of a hike to the downtown and waterfront attractions. It's not in a very pretty area (kind of industrial), but overall, I thought the hotel was an excellent value.

Just had a five day stay here and I must say it exceeded my expectations the room smelled very fresh and looked clean when we entered, The room and bathroom was very clean all 5 days our room was cleaned impeccably. The room had a microwave and refrigerator witch was convenient, our towels were changed daily, our bed was done daily, and our amenities (shampoo and lotion) as well. The bed was very comfortable the sheets were amazing. The hotel staff was very friendly and even showed us places we could visit while in Seattle, The only downside to the hotel in a $10 dollar charge for parking, however there is a security guard at night in the parking basement witch made me comfortable leaving the car their. Overall my experience was GREAT!!!!
