Hotel Review of the Holiday Inn Seattle

I wanted to stay in a hotel close to the Space Needle and relatively close to
the city.
This hotel exceeded expectations, even the parking was priced reasonably.
My room was huge, very clean and had free internet.
The staff answered many questions, check in and out was effortless.
I was sorry to leave.

We took a short trip to Seattle for a getaway and since this was a bit last
minute and trying to stick to a budget we went to a chain hotel. Overall
experience was pretty good. The hotel is in a good location, the staff is very
friendly and attentive, the services available at the hotel are great and
available mostly 24 hours a day (internet, coffee, tea, stamps, vending
machines, laundry room, lounge, etc), it's pretty close to most public transit
too.
We arrived via bus into Seattle right into the downtown. The hotel is very close
to the Space Needle so we decided to take the monorail to the Space Needle
(1mile) and walk to the hotel. It was a couple of blocks away and overall an
easy walk. This also helped us get a lay of the land.
So besides the issues I had with Bank of America and their credit card service
department (that's a whole different article) there were no issues with check
in. The staff was EXTREMELY helpful as I struggled with VISA (I forgot AMEX at
home) and getting them to allow a charge. The younger gentleman at the front
desk was actually supposed to go home and requested someone else finish our
check in, but he decided to stay and make sure we got checked in ok. Very nice.
Once checked in, the room was decent sized, comfortable, clean and very fresh
smelling. There was a nice touch with a popcorn bag, and some warm drinks
available in the room. We got the 6th floor suite, which comes with some
additional amenities and access to the lounge and business center. The bathroom
was very clean and spacious which is greatly appreciated. The hotel is up to
date and modern and very intuitive.
Our stay was good, the bed was clean and comfortable, we really had no issues
during our stay. The business lounge was very useful. The computer access is
fast, reliable and with printer options. It has full MS Office and PC
applications which are helpful. The continental breakfast is just that. Boiled
eggs, toast, jams, bagels, cereals, oatmeal, fruit, etc. it's good and decent
for making a good start on the day.
The hotel has lots of helpful little amenities. Downstairs also has a business
center for use. Magazines of local stuff and available loner umbrellas for
people like us who forget to bring one to Seattle. The fitness center is basic
and adequate for most exercise routines, i feel.
The hotel also has a restaurant that we didn't end up trying that does room
service as well.

I stayed here with family for 2 nights when we landed in Seattle. The hotel
lobby was nice, the staff that dealt with us were very friendly and helpful as
well. The room was clean when we walked in, everything was good. When we asked
questions in regards to renting vehicles and getting around Seattle teh staff
were very helpful.
On our last night we were woken up at 2:30am because there was a party going on
right above us and it sounded like they were dragging furniture and picking them
up and dropping them on the floor. We called Front Desk and the guests in that
room was taken care of within 30 minutes (We later find out in the morning they
were escorted out).
Waking up that same morning we saw an envelope under our door and it was an
apology from the staff about last night's debacle so they gave us a $20 voucher
breakfast at the Emerald Grill which we thought was a nice gesture. They had the
cab ready for us ahead of time as we had to leave for the Amtrak station at
6:45am.
So all in all it was a good experience minus the debacle from other guests. It
was relatively close to the Space Needle, and rental car companies were within 5
blocks away, so it was pretty easy to get around for us.
I stayed here for 3 nights; I was given a quiet room upon my request at check-in
and was pleased with the room. It had a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and a
sink. The gym had some outdated cardio machines, so I didn't use this gym and
instead used the 24 Hr Fitness about a mile away. The room was clean. The
business center has 2 computers for free use (with very slow internet service).

The hotel itself is near the Space Needle and Seattle Center (a 10 min walk,
max)- if you are planning to spend a lot of time there, then this is a good
location. It is also not that far from South Lake Union (a 15-20 min walk). I
didn't spend a lot of time at either of these places, so I usually walked to
Pike's Market/Downtown, which was about a mile walk- it wasn't raining, so I
enjoyed the walk, but if it had been, I would have been spending more time on
the bus. The hotel is not in the " free ride area" that the buses have during
the day, so if you do plan to use the bus, then it is about a 3+ block walk to
the closest stop at 6th Avenue or Battery (I am guessing on this, as I never
used this) There is a nearby bus stop for other buses within a minute walk by
the hotel, like the bus to Fremont.
While I would recommend this hotel to a friend, I am not sure I would personally
go back to this particular hotel, only due to the location in relation to my
points of interest.

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. Room was clean but typical. Nothing extra. No
breakfast included. There is a restaurant on site, food rather bland.
We could hear a lot of traffic noise all the time. Also people walking above
you. $10 a night parking was good. |

My husband and I came back to Seattle for the second year in a row following a
wonderful visit last year. During last year's stay, we lodged at the Holiday Inn
Express that sits next to Holiday Inn, so we are very familiar with the area.
This year, the area felt different. I don't know if it was because I am
comfortable with the area, but it didn't feel sketchy like it did last year.
There were plenty of professionals and vacationers walking around. I felt
completely safe. Mostly, we crossed Denny Way, passed the awesome Pink Elephant
car wash, and walked down Bell to get to the Market and everything else.
The room was very clean and comfortable. The front desk was super friendly and
helpful holding our bags so we could go downtown while we waited for our room to
become available. The cab fare seemed more expensive this year from the airport,
so we may consider alternative transportation next time getting to the hotel.
If you are looking for breakfast options, I recommend Top Pot Donuts, located on
5th street. Fresh donuts, good coffee, in a great cafe environment. We went
almost every morning of the 4 days we spent in the city.
I highly recommend the HI. It's 1 mile from Pike Place Market, 2 from the
baseball and football stadiums. The walking will help you work off the donuts! |

Booked the King Bunk Bed kids suite for a 3 night visit to Seattle. Room was
very good. Clean and to the standard you would have expected of a big hotel
chain
This separates the kids in to a room of their own, with TV etc, but within the
main room. It’s a good idea, giving both parties a little bit of freedom and
privacy.
The only problem we had was the TV in the kids room didn’t work properly and
when it did, it only showed adult programmes. After a couple of calls to
maintenance and the front desk over the next 24 hrs the TV was replaced and the
content restrictions for the kids TV was removed. Ironically the restriction
removed the only channels the kids watched, Disney and the Cartoons.
A good bonus was, depending on your deal, the fact that kids eat free for
breakfast and the evening meal should you choose to dine in the hotel
restaurant. We did two nights and the food was not bad although the choice was a
little limited.
The Hotel is in a good location, 5 mins walk from the Space needle, Sci-Fi
museum and the Music museum. We even walked to Pike place market in 25 min. I
would stay there again as its good value and a good location with secure parking
($10 which is very good for Seattle). Yes and the lifts/elevators are very slow
which was the source of some amusement to us but frustrating to other we met. |

It was very good experience, we stayed there for a week and staff there had been
very helpful and courteous. Services were excellent and cleanliness was superb.
Since this was our first visit to USA, hotel staff was good in supporting us by
helping in getting transport, other facilities and guiding how to go about.
One of the front desk manager helped in getting our hotel booked for New York
and promptly gave all documents while we were away for conference..
Keep it up!! |

Booked the Holiday Inn in advance for just the night before coming home from
Seattle. Booked a kids suite on the executive floor as it provides access to the
club lounge and you get breakfast.
Arrival was good and efficient and they recognised the platinum card but did not
offer or provide any benefits.
Room was freezing and very cramped thought eh kids loved the bunk beds.
There was a microwave sink and coffee maker but no almost no wardrobe space.
We had arrived late and did not explore. The following day we had breakfast in
the lounge and were the only guests.
We were due to leave for London at 7pm and so requested a late check out. 3pm
was all we wanted and given the platinum status thought it would be simple. Not
a bit of it. They have no staff post 12.30 and so no late checkout was allowed.
As a result we packed up and left our stuff in the car while we had a look
around Seattle. |

The Hotel was nice and seemed fairly new or newly remodelled. I was staying at
this hotel at the recommendation of the group I was with. The price was
negotiated via the group and was average IMO. I debated on staying somewhere
else for a cheaper rate but decided against it as I would have to drive to this
hotel to meet up with everyone else.
The location is A+, very close to downtown a cheap cab ride into the city or
most other places downtown. You can walk to Whole foods market or a number of
restaurants are within 15-20 min walk or drive. It is also a few blocks away
from the space needle.
The hotel is across the street from a nice park (more about that park later) and
within a few steps of a restaurant that serves pretty good food and has a bar as
well. The room was clean as well as hallways and exterior grounds. There are 2
elevators that serve the hotel and parking areas, however one elevator is VERY
slow and the other one is always packed with people.
Parking is underground and I believe was an extra $10.00 a day, I thought about
not paying the $10/day to park on the street. Needless to say after it started
to get dark I realized I better pony up the $10 bucks or I might be calling the
rental car company to tell them the car is stolen. |

5 star clean ever corner is clean. ALL employee of the Holiday Inn Seattle 211
Dexter Ave. North, Seattle, Wa 98109 . Was very helpful and friendly. The room
was peaceful and comfortable.
The restaurant next door was clean. and the food good. The bus service in
Seattle was quick and easy to use. The desk courts help us fined the right bus
to catch. We want to a boat show at Qwest Center to China town for dinner back
to the Holiday Inn on the Seattle bus system. Get off and on when we want. The
Holiday in location was great for coming and going.
