Hotel Review of the Marriott Hotel Seattle Waterfront

My family and I stayed at the Marriott for 3 nights to start our Northwest
vacation and our review is mixed. Although I made one reservation for two rooms
they put the rooms on separate floors. We had to wait past 5pm for two rooms on
the same floor. Then the air conditioned in the second room would only blow hot
air. They did correct the problem by giving us an awesome corner room (very
spacious with nice views of Puget Sound). In the end it was a great location.
The cafe had excellent food selection and prompt service. The restaurant was the
complete opposite. We have terrible service; our waiter finally admitted to
giving our food to another table when we asked him why our meals were taking
exceeding long (we waited over 30 minutes for French toast and an omelette). In
the end the food was mediocre at best. So, I would recommend staying here for
the location but just don't eat in the restaurant.

This was our second stay at this hotel and just like the first one, I have no
complaints! Beautiful hotel, great location, excellent service. We originally
chose this hotel because of the proximity to the cruise terminals. NCL is right
across the street, Princess and Holland America are a 10-15 minute drive down
the street. I booked two rooms for one night using my Marriott points about six
months ago. We arrived from the airport using Seattle Limo and Towncar
Association, which was recommended by the hotel (great service). We checked in
around 400 with no problems and the rooms were ready. 434 and 437, both had
double beds, were very clean, smelled good and had partial views. We headed up
to Pike Place Market, which is about a 5-7 minute walk, had an awesome dinner at
Pike Place Brewery. It should be noted that a small portion of the walk is
slightly uphill. There is a Cost Plus World Market at the top of that hill,
which is a good place to buy wine to take onboard the cruise ships. :) Back at
the hotel we had a drink downstairs and did some people watching. Would stay at
this hotel again

Everyone slept well, the beds were very comfy and we never heard the train
(there are tracks behind the hotel). There were three of us in each room but it
never seemed crowded. The bathrooms are large, towels nice and there is shampoo,
conditioner and lotion from Crabtree & Evelyn. FREE wi-fi access in the lobby!
Also, free internet in the Business Center (which is very small). Small "coffee
shop" inside the lobby that serves Starbucks coffee, yogurts and muffins also
sells snacks, gifts, newspapers etc. and some travel sized items . There is a
Starbucks right next to the hotel (5 second walk from lobby) for those who need
more than the lobby offers. We had express check out and there were no
"surprise" charges on the bill for either room. All the staff we encountered
were helpful and nice. Would stay at this hotel again in a heartbeat!

Right on the waterfront - Staff was good - Had an oceanfront room at $350 a
night and it was more like a shoe closet with a bed. Do yourself a favour and do
your homework

This hotel was a very nice hotel on the waterfront. Many ships dock nearby and
it is within walking distance of Pike Place Market and downtown Seattle. The
hotel had a business conference there and the area was way too small for the
business conference attendees. In addition, the hotel parking is outrageously
priced, but you can find cheaper parking nearby. The hotel parking is one rate,
but if you park in the nearby garage you have to pay separately in and out, so
weigh whether you will be using your car frequently.

We stayed at the Seattle Marriott Waterfront during the third and last leg of a
trip to British Columbia and the Pacific Northwest. We chose the hotel because
we usually find Marriotts to have very good quality for a reasonable price.
However, we were very disappointed with this choice. The room was small and
outdated, and the bed was hard and very uncomfortable. We did not sleep well at
any point during our stay. The walls were thinner than most hotel walls and we
could hear every noise that was made in the surrounding rooms, including every
time someone in one of those rooms took a shower, right down to when they opened
and closed the shower curtain. The TV was also apparently set to only go to a
certain volume, which was very low, resulting in our hearing other people moving
around in their rooms over the TV in our own room.

Although the waterfront location was nice, we found that it was noisy and
crowded outside on the pier because there was a cruise ship in the port both
days we stayed there. Overall, the hotel was just average at best but I felt
that we paid an above-average price. We even had to pay for the Internet access
(whereas at another, lower-priced and significantly nicer Marriott where we
stayed during this same trip we did not). If the price had been significantly
lower, I would not be complaining. However, at the price that this hotel
charged, we were expecting better quality of services and amenities and find it
surprising that this 4-star rated Marriott lacked that quality. We loved Seattle

We were at this Marriott two nights post cruise and we loved it! The bedding was
outstanding, our room was more than spacious (with a balcony overlooking the
harbor) and the location was excellent! We did go to the pool and hot tub one
evening and had it all to ourselves. On our day of checkout we took advantage of
the Platinum member concierge and had breakfast and printed out our boarding
passes!
If there was one thing to have a complaint about it would be that the staff at
the front desk (only there) was just somewhat mediocre. It wasn't that they were
rude or mean....just nothing outstanding. From other experiences in Marriott's
the staff is usually outstanding but you can't win them all. I loved our choice
and if we are ever back into Seattle we will absolutely stay here! Steps from
the market, tons of eating, shopping, the Aquarium and the Pier......EXCELLENT!

I stay at Marriott hotels on business because I know what to expect. This
Marriott was truly exceptional. From the concierge to the housekeeping staff,
everyone was happy to help and always with a kind word and a smile. It turns out
that I was witihin walking distance of all of the offices downtown where I would
be working -- although there were one or two steep hills -- but so long as it
wasn't raining, it was a nice brisk walk. And, it was also within easy walking
distance of Pike Place Market or you could take a free bus from just across the
street to take you the Space Needle if you were so inclined.

We are platinum Marriott members, so when we are comparing hotels, it is usually
Marriott against Marriott. Marriott’s level of service is incredible, so that
sets the bar pretty high for all hotels we stay at. At this hotel, the service
was fine, but not great like the other Marriott’s we stayed at on the trip – the
Bellevue Residence Inn and the Marriott in Victoria, BC. The rooms were fine,
the waterfront views were outstanding. The location was very convenient to Pikes
Market, the waterfront and the downtown tourist attractions. We enjoyed our
weekend and here and will stay and play here again if we go back to Seattle. |
