This is a 1930's era hotel, so the rooms can be very small, but LOCATION,
LOCATION, LOCATION!
on the corner of 7th Ave and Pine Street, Pacific Place is directly across the
street. Nordstrom's #1, the flagship store is out the Pine Street door and two
blocks to the left.
A lot of Seattle is walkable from this hotel, or just a short cab ride. It's
also close to the bus and light rail tunnel (under the Nordstrom store) and the
rail now goes to SEA-TAC airport.
Pike Place Market is about 5 minutes west, and the water front maybe another 5
minutes beyond the market.
Seattle is one of my favorite places to go and I stay at The Roosevelt for
business. I'd definitely check availability if I was traveling on my own time.
I've never had a bad experience here.
I only wish they would upgrade the bed linens, and update the room furniture.
The style is of the period for when the hotel was built but is wearing out.

We came to Seattle for an overnight stay, to do some shopping and enjoy the
city. The hotel seemed quiet, not a lot of people staying there. My husband and
I had stayed there before, and the location is perfect, right in the
shopping/movie/restaurant district of downtown Seattle. We’d had a nice room
previously, but not so this time. Our room was tiny, and it seemed like it had
perhaps missed a reno or two - not even room for the typical desk & chair
set-up. Not what I expected for a hotel with so many empty rooms. Now, I could
have complained & demanded another room, but we were in a hurry to go out, so we
didn’t say anything. We should have - turned out the bed wasn’t in good shape
either, and sleep didn’t happen too easily. I think we’ll stay elsewhere next
time.

The lobby has only one computer terminal for guests. Although there is a small
sign requesting guests be considerate of others, time and again computer hogs
acted as if they owned it and occasionally were belligerent. Complaining to the
manager and concierge was pointless as they would not confront the selfish hogs.

Location was great for sight seeing and/or business. Rooms were on the small
side especially the bathroom, but they were very clean and somewhat cozy. Don’t
know why this sticks out from all of my memories but the hotel has a wonerful
aroma. It gives a very cozy feeling.

This was our second trip to Seattle w/in the last year. The first time we stayed
at the Mayflower & would have done so again but for a friend’s recommendation to
try the Roosevelt. We prefer boutique hotels to the big chains. The Roosevelt
offered a senior rate which was an excellent value. The location was great –
across the street from Pacific Place and an easy walk to Pike’s Place Market (my
favorite go-to in Seattle). My room overlooked the street and I thought noise
from traffic & the restaurant below (Von's) would be an issue but it wasn't at
all. Overall I would rate this hotel better than average in most respects; front
desk & concierge staff were friendly and helpful. This was our second trip to

Room Rate was great, room was fantastic view of bay to the west, saw a
spectacular sunset over the mountains& bay. Both rooms had a TV, Bathroom real
small but functional. Great location short walk to Pike Place Market and all the
stores.
Was told not to eat at hotel. Many places close for coffee and meals. Would
recommend to solo traveler, small for a couple for more than 2 days.
