Hotel Review of the Coast Gateway Hotel Seattle

From the courtesy phones in the Hotel Transportation area of the airport, press
#45 to get the free shuttle for the Coast Gateway Hotel. The shuttle came within
10 minutes. My plane was to leave at 7:00 a.m., so I was grateful for the 5:00
a.m. complimentary breakfast offered by the hotel. It included toast, bagels,
apples, bananas, waffles from a waffle iron, boiled eggs, yogurt, juice, coffee,
and other things I'm forgetting. Check-in was fast, and my room was located just
off the elevator, which was convenient. At the Hilton, I've had to walk and walk
and walk to get to my room, which was no fun pulling heavy bags.

Girl at the front desk was very accommodating and really helpful. I didn't have
to ask for a king bed she took one look at my 6'4" husband and automatically
gave us a king bed. The night cost us $178 for the hotel and to leave our truck
for 7 days at a secured parking garage. We drove our new truck to the parking
garage and they took us to the airport. When we arrived at the airport we called
them so that they would have our truck ready for us and they picked us up and
brought us back to our truck which was waiting for us and in excellent
condition. Glad we chose this hotel

Stayed night before our flight and then on the way back again. Clean rooms, nice
complimentary breakfast (kids loved the waffles), efficient front desk and
timely/very friendly shuttle service to the airport. Would definitely stay
again. Everything you need from an airport hotel. Pleasant surprise :)

After reading some of the previous reviews, I was concerned this hotel would be
low-rent and not a 4-star as they claim. I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel,
staff and room were very nice and the free shuttle from the airport was prompt.
The location is almost AT the airport, but I did not hear any planes. The free
breakfast was a little weak, but hey, its free! There are also several places to
eat within a block, including Denny's, IHop, Subway and a BBQ place. I would
certainly return to this hotel. Do yourself a favor and use Priceline. Bid 1/2
the price and get all the perks. Well worth it.

Small bed and uncomfortable mattress, TV from the last century. Room clean and
decently appointed. Public areas very nice. Decent comp breakfast in the AM,
I've stayed here several times and sometimes get a good bed and sometimes an
uncomfortable one, (luck of the draw). Priceline rates this a 3 star, it is not.
I've tried telling Priceline this but they stick to their guns, bet they've
never stayed here. For $50 it's OK but pales in comparison with the other 3
stars in the area. Airport pickup and drop off was reasonably prompt, staff was
courteous and helpful. This is a six floor building with one working ice
machine, that's not 3 star. It's about the closest hotel to the airport, that
said there is no problem with airplane noise. On a nice day a 10 minute walk to
the airport. The restaurant is across the parking lot and you'd better like
bar-b-que because that's all they serve. On my last trip I noticed a Subway half
a block down, step in the right direction. |
