If you are looking for hospitality where guests satisfaction is the number one
priority; this is not the hotel for you. Not only did I travel 3/4 across the US
to stay in Seattle but I've an extensive background working in hotels &
management was contacted not only while we stayed at this Holiday Inn in regards
to noise disturbances keeping us from getting even an hour of sleep, but we
spoke with them with another couple that was nervous about complaining for the
lack of sleep they had gotten. We were reassured that our last night would be
better & if we had any problems to contact management. It was two sleepless
nights in Seattle & management was contacted. The results are broken promises by
David the manager & other management involved with this. My experience in
working at a hotel was; you roll out the red carpet for your guest & you fix the
problem before it happens. If a problem happens, you make it right & do
everything you can to make the guest as comfortable as possible, as if they've
never left home. You will not be a priority at this hotel & I left Seattle with
the knowledge that with my publication reviews of hotels that this is not the
place to stay.

I am not a picky traveler so I don't say this often but don't bother staying
here unless you don't need to sleep or are in a bind. This was a work trip and I
honestly didn't sleep all night because of the noise. It was horrible.
The hotel seemed cheap so I should have known better but it looked nice in the
pictures and the reviews werent too bad. Maybe I had a bad experience but here
is how it went:
I got to the hotel around six and there was only one person working the check in
and a large line so it took ten minutes just to check in. Next, i was charged
for overnight parking even though I am platinum status so that brought the room
rate up. I got off at the priority club 11th floor and wow - it smelled and was
just dark and drab - like an old cheap hotel. OK its just for a night I thought
until I got to the room. Old room, old bath, old heating system but new TV and
bedding. The main problem is that the building is so old that the 1960s single
pain windows seemed to amplify the constant highway and airplane noise. Now I
know its next to the airport so I expect some noise - but this was so loud
because of the cheap windows that I kept checking thinking the window was
actually opened. Bottom line - no sleep - waste of money - wont stay there
again.
If you need a cheap place to stay that is really really convenient and you don't
care so much about sleeping this place is fine - maybe if I weren't traveling
for work I wouldn't have written such a bad review - but it was a work trip and
it was horrible.

We booked this hotel just a few days before our stay. We got the room for just
over $60 for the night and were pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. Even
though this is an older hotel, the room was nicely updated, great king size bed
very comfortable with nice linen. At first when we approached our room, we saw
it was across the hall from the ice machine and next to the elevator. We thought
this might be heard in our room. It was a quiet as a tomb. It was wonderful. We
didn't hear even one plane take off. Funny because we were so close to them, you
could see what brand of tires they had. The room had a coffee maker, great
updated shower with decent pressure (even though it was a watersaver type). We
can't really fault anything. We will be back SeaTac! The best surprise was that
even though when we called and asked if parking was included when we first
booked the room and they said it wasn't and cost $13 a night extra, at checkout
we were told that there was no additional charge for it...

We stayed at this HI Express for one night after spending a few days in Portland
and wanted to be close to the airport for our flight back east. The front desk
recognized my Priority Club membership with a free upgrade to a suite…nice way
to start our stay. The in-room internet connection worked great. The breakfast
was ample (check out the automated pancake maker!). The entrance to SEA-TAC is
only about a five minute drive away. If we’re in the area again, we would
definitely stay here. |
