Hotel Review of the Holiday Inn Express Seattle

Decent location, we occupied two non-connecting rooms on the top floor, which we
had requested, for three nights in May. One room faced a very busy street (some
noise, even with window closed) but had great Space Needle views, while the
other side of the building faces a narrow alley and the wall and windows of
another hotel (as if the constant rain doesn't make it dark enough). Overall you
get the HIE experience you'd expect, with the caveat that this hotel seems
unusually crowded, i.e. too many rooms for its infrastructure. What do I mean by
that?... The underground parking spaces are really small, and there simply isn't
enough parking. If you were to come back to the hotel late, well enjoy street
parking (or create parking spots in the garage out of thin air, which many
people did!...). The wait at the two (!!) elevators seemed like an eternity. The
line at breakfast went into the reception area each morning, but the breakfast
was decent as usual at HIE. The pool was very busy as well. Once we got into our
rooms, everything was clean and functional, so no complaints there. The bottom
line: Yes, I would use that hotel again.

Not what I expect from a holiday inn express. Vanity is in the main room which
makes the use of it subject to others in the room, this is more of a la qunita
type room than what I have seen from the express chain in general. The elevators
here are beyond slow and the area in which they are in is a poorly designed
congested spot near the pool entrance. The beds were cony but the frames felt
like they could come apart at any moment and the four pillows were so used they
seemed little more than functioning marshmallows. A convenient location with
quiet rooms but with the above listed cons and a almost useless work out room,
save your money and go next door to the holiday inn which we felt is in much
better shape and a few bucks cheaper.

We had to fly from the east coast to the west coast to do our Alaskan cruise so
we decided it would be best to go the day before just in case we had issues. We
stayed at the holiday inn express center city it was a very nice location it was
about 5 blocks walking distance from the space needle. There was great
restaurants within walking distance and there was a shuttle service that ran
from the lobby to the pier for 6 dollars a passenger it was ace transports. The
room was clean, amazing continental breakfast they go above and beyond there.

Close to every mayor attraction, well located, very clean, the breakfast is
including the price and the people at front desk is very helpful.
Room Tip: If you are a family of four the suite with two queen beds is
reasonably priced, very clean and with lot of space.

Stayed only one night here on the road trip north. This Holiday Inn is just a
few blocks from the Space Needle/monorail and the Experience Music Project.
Seattle is a small city, so downtown is just about a 15 minute walk. I felt safe
even walking back from downtown after dinner. Hotel is on a busy street, but
could not hear the noise. Our room had a great view of the Space Needle.
Breakfast area was too small for the size of the hotel, had to hover for a table
to open, but was well stocked. The hotel is busy during cruise season. There
were a lot of guest staying a night to get on the ship the next day, so the
lobby was busy in the morning.
The one bedroom suite was roomy, with two full bathrooms. Had an issue with the
toilet when we arrived, but someone came up immediately to fix it.
There is a $10 daily parking fee. |
