Hotel Review of the Hotel Monaco Seattle

This was our second time staying at this hotel. The lobby is charming as are the rooms. We were able to get an upgrade when we checked in for $20 to a beautiful king suite. The staff couldn't be nicer. We had dinner at Sazerac and the food was very good. We usually don't eat at hotel restaurants, but we arrived late and decided to give it a try. We were definitely pleasantly surprised. Great service and food and plenty of choices. The complimentary hot chocolate with marshmallows and chocolate chips was a nice touch during the holiday season. We would definitely stay here again

We stayed at the Hotel Monaco for 5 nights in August. The location is good. It is walking distance to Pike Place market and the monorail and there are a few good restaurants nearby. It does get a little quiet on the weekends however as it is in the financial district and we found that most places did close early making it a little difficult to get a snack or coffee outside the hotel in the late evening. The room was very spacious making it great for us: a couple and two young children. That said, the sofa bed would have been extremely uncomfortable for an adult, but the kids did not complain at all. And it was nice to have a heavy curtain separating the space, so we could have a light on while the kids were sleeping. The welcome package for the kids was nice as was the box of toys in the lobby. We did not get a goldfish for the first few days (due to some heat wave... not sure if that was just a cute excuse for the kids or the truth) but did finally get one after a few days of nagging. Not a big deal, but I would rather they didn't advertise it unless it can be guaranteed upon arrival. The restaurant was great: we ate there twice and had two great meals.

The staff at the Hotel Monaco from the front desk, to the waiters in the fabulous restaurant each morning to the housecleaning were incredibly kind and helpful. The hotel is located in a great location close enough to walk along the water and close enough to walk to the convention center. It is also safe at night, which I appreciated.
I love all animals and adore the "idea" of having gold fish for guests, but for a slightly extra investment for a larger bowl, two fish could hang together. It is difficult enough for fish without pumped in air supply, but to be completely alone (especially gold fish which can easily live together) at least doesn't make it look so lonely. Two different people I brought to my room commented on how lonely the fish in the hall looked. Otherwise it's a fabulous place!

Stayed here the night before a cruise. Hotel was wonderful. Front desk was able to check us in right away. Lovely location, gym was fine. Happy hour each night was a fun perk. Would definitely stay there again!

We spent three great nights at the Monaco. Location is very good, on 4th Avenue, which puts it a few blocks from Elliott Bay (but then just about everything is a few blocks off the bay, since the freeway viaduct runs along the bay.

The best part was the staff. They were excellent in all respects - well trained, knowledgeable and helpful. Room 501 was large and comfortable, although it had a "view" of the building across the alley. Air conditioning was a bit weak, but that was fixed by having a fan sent up. (We found the return air filter needed to be changed.) Evening wine and hors d'oeuvres were good. Restaurant was very good. We'll be back

My husband, our 20 month old daughter and I stayed here for three nights and had a wonderful time! All of the staff was wonderful and accommodated all of our requests immediately! Our daughter loved the fish 'Lucia' that we had in our room. It was a fun touch! We also ate at the restaurant in the lobby twice and the food was excellent! The room service was a little over priced, but we only ordered dessert. The location was great as we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go in Seattle. The valet parking was a little pricey, but they were very accommodating and even ran to our car to grab our sunglasses for us. Overall a great experience and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone! Great military/government rates for those that qualify!

If you want a nice room in Seattle in the summer you'll pay for it but this place is worth it. Very knowledgeable and accommodating staff. Extremely comfortable bed with very nice linens. I'd come back!
