Hotel Review of the Residence Inn Lake Union

As with most of the Marriott the rooms are big, the staff friendly and the hotel
clean. But location isn't the best. I was here on business so for me it didn't
matter.

In town four days prior to going to Alaska on a cruise. We did not rent a car so
needed a good location to activities, restaurants, transportation and not
knowing the area wanted to feel safe. This was the place. One block from the
trolley that takes you into downtown, across the street are a number of
restaurants. We enjoyed being able to tour the city and return back to our quiet
oasis. Since we visited in August the weather was incredible. We went across the
street a few times for a drink and watched the seaplanes take off on the lake.
Some newer, trendy restaurants just opened and if we did it again we would stay
here!
They had a complimentary breakfast buffet that was a step above the normal
breakfasts, that was the only time we ran into the numerous families with young
kids and it did not bother us. Laundry facilities onsite, plan to go during off
hours to make sure you can get a machine.

We have travelled world wide, and stayed in many high priced places , this hotel
is great and very comfortable, easy access to transit and freeway, this could
easily become my most favorite hotel , The suite are roomy and comfortable, the
only thing is that the bathroom could be bigger, BUT REALLY who spends much time
in one, Thank you Residence Inn for a great time, if we are back in Seattle , we
will stay here.

The Residence Inn in Seattle is one of the best I've stayed at. The rooms are
well decorated and equipped...both living/bedroom have televisions. Bathrooms
are very nice and the kitchen is stocked with dishes and utensils for cooking,
if you desire. There have a microwave and regular size refrigerator. They
provide a full breakfast each morning...loved it. Mondays thru Wednesdays, they
have dinners for the guests from 5pm-6:30pm (different themes each night). They
provided each morning the newspapers to read as well. Their exercise room and
pool is very nice. The front desk persons were all so helpful with information
for touring Seattle.
The area is right across the street of Lake Union. You are surrounded by yachts
and restaurants. We ate at Duke's and it was fairly good. It is easy access to
downtown Seattle...they have the Streetcar that cost $2.50 each way (only 10
mins to downtown Westlake Center), a very enjoyable ride. Then you have the
regular bus across the the street that can take you there as well that $2.25 per
person. Seattle is a very quaint town to explore by yourself. The downtown buses
are usually free so check on them when you are there. We visited Mount Rainer
which was so breathtaking to see and experience. We ventured to Port Angeles for
a few days in between to do Olympic Natl Park...2.5 hrs away from Seattle. You
can take the Dungress Line to get there if you are not driving, like ourselves.
You can pick up that bus at the Bus terminal at 9th Ave/Stewart Street.
We had a wonderful time in Seattle...I recommend this hotel very highly. This
place will make your visit a good one!
