Hotel Review of the W Hotel Seattle

Arrival went smoothly, public areas are stylish and comfortable, gym is nice
sized and functional, rooms have great windows and comfortable beds. Rooms could
use a clean coat of paint to freshen up the place. Bar was hopping at night, but
restaurant deserted. I'd travel there again, but might choose the four seasons
to get an outstanding view and convenient access to Pike Place market.

Myself and my three children stayed in this hotel for one night. My boys are 10
and 8 and my 4 year old daughter suffers from severe autism. Somehow after the
boys and I had fallen asleep my daughter got out of bed and turned the water on
in the sink. This continued to run for several hours until staff from the hotel
woke us up to let us know what was happening. The sound was virtually silent and
no one heard it until it was far too late. The hotel moved us to another room
but in the morning slapped me with a 1250 dollar charge. I have tried repeatedly
to work something out with them explaining continuously about my daughter being
autistic and how it was just an unfortunate accident. The hotel won't budge and
I have even called the corporate office. I was treated rudely by the manager,
Tom Limberg basically as if we had purposely allowed my little girl to damage
this room. I am absolutely disgusted with the way I have been treated and will
never visit this hotel in the future. I was called negligent and treated with
complete disrespect, there was not one iota of compassion for the situation
because of my daughter's disability. Clearly this is a hotel only for people who
are lucky enough not to have a family affected by autism or any other
disability.

We stayed at the W, the night of the U2 concert. I had booked well in advance
and paid well in advance - almost $350. Requested a king size room for my
husband and me - even chose one of the higher level of rooms.
Imagine my surprise to end up in room right off of the elevator bay, with two
full size beds, overlooking the upper story of another building downtown. Glad
it wasn't our honeymoon.
When I called the front desk to inquire, I was told "You booked on expedia,
which means we only need to provide a room for you."
Of course, no one bothers to tell you that when you're reserving AND paying in
advance. And of course, they rely on the small print that says that they'll do
their best but can't guarantee your requests will be honored, but this was
ridiculous... to go from requesting a king room to a room where I can't even
share a bed with my husband is, in my opinion, the absolute bottom of customer
service.
I will never stay at another W, and I will give the same advice to anyone who
asks for recommendations. Hope it was worth it to them.

Reliable service and amenities as with any W hotel. You can rely on this hotel
for clean rooms, soft beds and pleasant service. The room was a generous size
though parking was a bit expensive (though not atypical from other hotel parking
rates). Hotel was centrally located and was within walking distance to sights.
