Hotel Review of the Seattle University Travelodge

We read the reviews after we had booked 4 rooms for 2 nights at this motel. We
all felt like the location was great, the rooms we clean, parking was good. The
check-in staff could have been friendlier but she was efficient. All the rooms
were booked at the same time but we didn't get our rooms near enough to each
other. The pool isn't heated but was clean and nice. The hot tub is out of
order. looks like indefinitely. The beds are double beds not queen like they say
but were very comfortable. The breakfast room was very small. The halls were
stuffy but the room temperature controls were just fine. Overall the stay was
fine. We weren't there to spend a lot of time in our motel and for the price we
were all satisfied

This hotel is located just 2 blocks from an entrance to the University of
Washington. Husky Stadium is just down the street. The daily rate is very
reasonable and includes a free breakfast (cereal, oatmeal, muffins, fresh
fruits, coffee/tea/juice). The room where breakfast is served is a little cramp
but adequate and includes a flat screen TV. There is also a PC in the same room
which you can use to check in for your flights. Our room was clean and pleasant.
The walls are a little thin, so you can hear the doors to nearby rooms closing.
Not a major problem, though.
The University Village Shopping Center, which is an upscale shopping center, is
located right across the street. There are some good restaurants and a 24 hour
supermarket located in the shopping center. Very convenient!

We stayed here for a college visit to UDub.... the location was great...right
next to campus. However, that is where the greatness ends! The price was way too
high for this place. The website for the Travelodge advertises that it is a
non-smoking facility, however, we walked into the hallway and there was a strong
smell of smoke throughout the building. As we continued down the hall, we could
smell the cleaning chemicals that were used for the rooms and it was almost
unbearable. The floors were disgusting and looked like they hadn't been replaced
since the place opened! The room was ok... floor was still gross and the room
was very outdated.... big spider on ceiling and just run-down looking but it
wasn't super dirty or anything. After staying in the room for a few minutes we
actually decided to leave and get another hotel in Bellevue... worth it!!! I
must say the cleaning staff was very nice and concerned about how the room
presented and even offered to help us load our car as we were leaving. This
place just ins't worth the price!

I will stay I've stayed in worse places, but not by much. We booked a room with
a king bed and the room we were given was a two double bed room. The clerk was
able to remedy this. The room was dirty, there was mold in the shower, the
heating unit took an hour to blow out hot air, it took ten minutes to get hot
water in the shower, and there was no comforter on the bed just sheets and a
very thin blanket. The location was good. It is directly across the street from
the University Village where they have lots of shopping and dining. It was also
fairly easy to get to most locations such as Ballard and Seattle Center.
However, if I go to Seattle again, I will most definately not stay in this hotel
again. It was not a pleasant experience.

Great price, convenient location, great staff
I decided to stay up in Seattle while doing Continuing education classes, and
this hotel is about a 2-5 minute drive from where they are held ( next to the
metro landmark cinema in the university business building ) I have stayed there
twice now, and honestly, for the price it is a pretty good deal. The staff is
friendly, and they were quick to respond to my needs. The continental style
breakfast is basic, toast, cereal, coffee, juices, milk, and otis spunkmeyer
muffins, but good. wifi works good even on 2nd floor. my only complaints were
that the bed was a bit uncomfortable and we could have used 2 pillows instead of
1, and throughout the night we could hear people walking and running up and down
the halls and slamming there doors, but that isnt the hotels fault ( it is right
up the street from the University of WA ) so on weekends especially it can be
loud. Overall i think it is exceptional for the rate i received per night and i
would not only stay there again, but i would also recommend it to someone. |
