Hotel Review of the Inn at Harbor Steps Seattle
June 14, 2011
The hotel is in a great location, very close to the Pike Market and in walking
distance to many attractions in downtown Seattle. The room looked like it could
use a facelift, it just looked a little tired. I expected something a little
more fancy for the price. They offer wine and hors d'oevres but there was only
cheese and a few crackers out along with the wine. The room was surprisingly
quiet given its location. There was a very loud noise made by the pipes when we
first used the sink and toilet in the room but thankfully that went away. As we
were preparing to check out of the room we noticed a guy right outside our room
washing the windows, but yet it was a good hour before official check out time.
I'm glad I had the blinds mostly closed but I thought that was weird.

We've stayed here 3 times. Walking distance to everything good in Seattle.
Things are getting a bit dated including furniture and linens. We enjoy the wine
& Hors d’oeuvres although I wish it was a bit earlier in the afternoon, around
3. There is a small pool available, which is sufficient. Breakfast is great for
us. I love the jam they use! It's a nice quiet spot to sleep. Last time we were
in Seattle we used a special deal through a convention we were going to and it
was so loud-we were disappointed and will not do it again!

Four couples spent the evening at the Inn the night prior to our cruise. This
has to be one of the finest B&B’s in the nation. Rooms were large, airy,
immaculately clean and well appointed, including a window-balcony overlooking a
courtyard and garden, and a fireplace. The evening wine happy hour was generous,
with excellent canapés, one of which was so delicious we acquired the recipe.
The full breakfast was also excellent with hot and cold food of all types. Staff
was courteous, knowledgeable and helpful. What more could one ask? We will
always stay at the Inn when in Seattle.

My boyfriend and I decided to treat ourselves to nice hotel located close to
Pike Place Market and they only thing we really wanted was a Jacuzzi bathtub. We
got so much more than that. We got it during a Special Offer time so it was
about $100 less than what it normally would . But I would have paid double for
what we got.
The service was amazing, very helpful staff, commentary hors d'oeuvre and wine
at night, I could go on and on. The location is two blocks away from Pike Place
Market, right across the street is the Seattle Art Museum and down the steps
were the Piers. The Room itself was incredible. Huge bed with a comfy cover,
romantic fireplace, a view of the court yard area and not to mention, the
amazing Jacuzzi.
Everything about this hotel was warm and inviting. There is not enough good
things I can say about this place. My boyfriend and I agreed that they spoiled
so much, that there is nowhere else we can stay in Seattle besides here.
The only Cons that we could come up with:
Parking wasn't free and a little confusing to get to but it was cheaper than
parking it somewhere else over night and the staff was very helpful with
directions.

Reading previous reviews had as nervous about the service but unless you are
needy, the staff are just fine. Rooms are comfy and clean with your own spa bath
robes, gas fire place and we stayed in a standard room. Nothing fancy. Comes
with breakfast but never partook as Pike's is right there and breakfast should
be enjoyed outside your hotel in a food city like Seattle. Wine and cheese was
good. Internet slow and intermittent and their wireless was cumbersome to log
into so we had the Ethernet cable. A bit like an apartment where you can hear
loud running people above. Would highly recommend for its central location. |
