Hotel Review of the Renaissance Hotel in Seattle
June 13, 2011
This hotel is well located in downtown Seattle and is just a few blocks away
from everywhere to comfortably explore the area. Seattle is a great walking
city, and while this location is a few blocks away from the core hotel and
shopping area the staff and property are so well managed to provide an excellent
experience to its guests. Priceline helps to make the regular price more
affordable.

We were first-timers to Seattle so didn't know where to stay. Bid on Priceline
took us to the Renaissance at $123/night. We couldn't have been happier. The
staff is super friendly and helpful. Room was perfect and clean with great 7
pillow bed. Be sure to go to the 28th floor for happy hour. The view is amazing
and staff, Rick and Maria, are terrific. DO NOT rent a car as parking is limited
and expensive. You can walk everywhere. Downtown bus service is free. Walk a
couple blocks to the Columbia Center/B of A building and go to the 73rd
observation floor and for $3/pp see the best views in Seattle (vs $22 at Space
Needle). Walk to Pike Place Market, take bus to Museum of Flight and to the
Locks, take the ferry to Bainbridge and eat the best clam chowder at Ivar's for
a perfect Seattle experience.

Super friendly staff. Concierge was great, helped us out with a dinner
reservation for a large party on the same night.
Beds are ok, a little too soft for my taste.
Rooms are a little dated, but spacious and clean.
In a decent location for downtown, although there are lots of hills in the area.
The water in our room would not hold a consistent temp (going from warm to
scalding hot, to tepid, then back to warm). The front desk was apologetic, and
agreed to a breakfast voucher for 2, but only after I asked. Breakfast buffet at
the restaurant in the hotel was just decent.
We got a rate that included parking, which made this a great deal since parking
is so expensive downtown.
I would stay here again and would recommend.

I stayed for 2 nights in May while attending a conference. The room was clean
and smelled fresh when I entered...this is GOOD and I what I expect every time
but don't always get at all hotels. I was on a fairly high floor (16th) and had
a view of both the freeway and a "sliver" of a water view. When I visited the
bar on the 28th floor that had a nice view which included the Space Needle.
I found the staff friendly and helpful. I ate only one meal at the hotel,
breakfast, and it was adequate, wouldn't go there if I had time to go
outside...Seattle has so many good restaurants that it's easy to be a food snob
here.
Worked out in the hotel gym...it was small, got a little crowded. On the other
hand it was clean, had plenty of clean towels and all the patrons were polite to
one another
I will stay again because I do business with a company that uses this
property...but would not rush to come back on my own. It's an adequate hotel,
nice staff...but really nothing unique or special.

My wife and I stayed at the Renaissance using priceline's "name your own price"
and were rewarded with a room for $109. Upon arrival, the front desk upgraded us
free after we told him it was our anniversary (which it was). We had a corner
suite with incredible views and the room was gorgeous. The staff could not have
been friendlier, we really enjoyed the lounge and we will certainly stay here
again. All of my expectations were exceeded and my wife was blown away by the
suite.
