Hotel Review of the Grand Hyatt Seattle

Friendly staff, clean room and great banquet food. But with only Ruths Chris
Steak House on property limited food choices. Breakfast price in Ruths were
outrageous, $18 for coffee, juice and oatmeal. Would choose mid range motor inn
next trip to Seattle
Room Tip: My room overlooked the convention center roof

I loved this hotel so much I don't know where to begin! The staff were
excellent. The location is perfect - walking distance to shopping, arts and
plenty of restaurants. Ruth Chris Steakhouse restaurant and lounge off the lobby
plus there's a Starbucks off the lobby as well. Rooms are spacious and well
appointed. Plenty of workspace but I did have to crawl under the desk to plug in
my laptop. Electronically operated black out blinds were a nice touch, and the
huge bathroom - finished in a combination of granite and what looked to be
marble - was an unexpected treat. Would I go back? Yes - in a heartbeat!

I would highly recommend this hotel when staying in Seattle. The service was
excellent, rooms were super clean, Great location. I was able to hear the noise
from outside while sleeping. Other than that, two thumbs up!

A great hotel yet not corporate/business traveller oriented. Finished business
day early, yet the desk person charged for not providing 24 hours notice of
early departure. Disappointing, even if a Hyatt Gold Passport member. Time is
money, yet this hotel penalizes you for checking out early. Many other chains do
not charge for early departure. Yet, most staff were accommodating and friendly
and focused on the customer. The rooms are superior, well appointed, though
avoid rooms close to elevators, as you hear the bell ring during the night while
trying to sleep. Having to pay for Wifi is so in the past.....Hyatt and you
other upscale chains, take a message from the other chains with free internet
get competitive, include it in the rate. At least my phone provided the service
regardless which they could not control or block. The tub would not drain,
maintenance was very quick in response, but failed to fix it. Not sure what the
problem was. Also, be careful, while the bathrooms are awesome, the marble
floors are slippery when wet....very....they provide a small rubber mat, but if
you step off the matt while wet, you could fall if not careful. Kind of breaks
up a romantic moment, unless you stay in the soaking tub or shower. Shame....as
I would return, but the penalty for early check out is expense in this economy. |
