Hotel Review of the Inn at Harbor Steps Seattle

Our overall impression of the Inn is that it is an afterthought to the apartments. I guess that begins with the fact that the rooms are actually below the lobby - you feel like you are going back to the parking garage.

We had a King/Spa room - the highest category. It was large and decently appointed. The fireplace was nice. We had a view of the courtyard - which was fine. But, for what we paid, I would have rather spent $50 more and stayed down the street at Hotel 1000 in one of their Executive Rooms. All that said, the location at the Steps and near the market was nice. We probably won't stay there again, but it was decent.

We stayed here for one night and loved it from the beginning. Parked our car in the 3 min loading zone, got our keys and I went to park my car while my wife was shown the room.
Room was very spacious and clean. Lighting could be a bit better but didnt bother us. Bottled water (Costco brand....love costco) was provided. Bed was comfortable and the fireplace made the room cozy.
Afternoon appies were great and so was the breakfast.
I did use the fitness room as well as the pool...everything met our expectations from courteous staff to cleanliness and comfort. Would love to stay here again!!

We stayed at the Inn at Harbor Steps in January. I was looking so forward to a day in the city close to amenities, especially the Seattle Art Museum. Not being one to complain, I waited patiently to get checked into our room, especially since we came early, and the front desk staff was unfailingly polite. However, when we returned during regular check-in time, we waited over 15 minutes to get the key to our room. It seemed that the front desk staff could not orchestrate their work to make check-in move smoothly.

When we arrived at the room, I noticed that the fixtures were well-worn. The towel bar was coming unbolted, and there was a crack in our sink and in the light fixture plate. Dust sat atop the shower curtain and rod, and some cobwebs hung from a corner of the bathroom.

The worst came when we realized the morning before departure that our shower trickled water. As a result, we could not take a shower at all. When I brought this up with the front desk staff member, he apologized, but that was it. Then I received my bill for over 200 dollars including tax.

I am particularly disappointed because of the expense and the positive reviews. I hope others did not share our experience.

One more thing...ensure that you are not placed next to an exterior door. We kept hearing it slam all evening. One women even slammed the door and then sang at the top of her lungs while traveling through the corridor.

We stayed in room 20 on the B Level. Everything from the time we made our reservation until the time we checke out was really first class.  It was fun to just wander around the city and enjoy the area.
There is a nice library to enjoy as well as a pool and jacuzzi.
We'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

Our room was spacious and included a fireplace and garden view. Despite the fact that it was very near to a popular and bustling area of the city, the room was quiet. Furniture was a little worn, but the bed was firm. Breakfast consisted of eggs, two ways; grapefruit, grapes and juice; oatmeal and assorted toppings; bread and muffins; coffee & tea. Not the "gourmet" as described nor the standard fare of chain motels. We enjoyed our meal plus the evening reception of wine, crackers, cheese, veggies and cake. With that food we found little need for anything but a large shared salad at dinner. The location is superb: two blocks from Pike St. Market, one block from Seattle Art Museum and a short walk down a few flights of outdoor stairs (the harbor steps) to the waterfront. Give it a try. The only drawback: directions to the inn and into the parking garage were not accurate.

We stayed at this hotel after seeing an offer for 50% off with Groupon. It is a great location near Pike Place Market.
If I had paid the full $250 per night for the room, I would have been very upset. As it is, we got a good location and breakfast, but that was really it. The housekeeping standards are not those of a hotel charging those prices.
