Hotel Review of the Roosevelt Coast Hotel Seattle

First off, when I called to make my reservation, the gentleman at the front desk
was beyond rude. His name was Christian, which I duly noted as I was completely
taken back by his disrespectful tone and overall snobby attitude. He sighed
throughout the entire conversation as he was taking my personal information and
placing it in the computer. In short, he sounded like he had a million other
things he would rather be doing instead of assisting me. Which is Completely
fine...Unless you're in the business of hospitality! Then you might need to fake
your way through it here and there :-)
After our uncomfortable but speedy 4 minute conversation, (which consisted of
providing room availability and price)...Christian unenthusiastically says " ok,
we'll see you this week"
I quickly stop him before he hangs up on me and ask..."Wait...ummm what time is
check in?"
He scoffs, as if I just asked him to recite the alphabet backwards and snaps:
"it's at 4:00 o'clock!"
Well, thanks Christian, I'm so excited to meet you! You sounds like a lovely
individual!
Then...god forbid...I attempt to ask Christian one more question about my
reservation (bad idea)...
He responds with: "look, I'm really busy right now, So you can either call back
or I'm going to have to put you on hold again!"
In my head Im thinking: What? Why are you so mad? I know there are those
annoying folks out there that will keep you on the phone for hours asking you to
detail the most ridiculous, insignificant information...but I'm not one of those
people...So whats with the attitude?! Never mind...I'll just google it.
In short, what I experienced over the phone with staff and later as a paying
guest, was completely unacceptable and extremely disappointing.

If you're planning a sales meeting, the Roosevelt is the place to stay. Great
location, walking distance to Pikes Place Market, and restaurants. We had 25
people stay here and the rooms were great, but the meeting accommodations were
even better. We had a personal assistant with the hotel to help us with any
technology and food and drink.
Very impressed with the friendly staff and accommodations. This hotel has a buzz
that led to a great environment for our meeting. Highly recommend you have your
meetings here.

I stayed here a couple of nights after attending a conference. The hotel was
right across the street from the conference hotel and right in the middle of a
bunch of shopping and restaurants. It was an easy walk to the market and
Westlake station. (I rode in on the light rail.) The room was comfortable and
modest. It was very clean I loved the soft bed. The flat screen tv was great.
Downstairs in the lobby there are 2 computers with internet access you can use
or bring your laptop down for free internet access. Staff was helpful with
directions. I would definitely stay there again.

We came down to Seattle from Vancouver for the weekend. The concierge at the
hotel was very helpful in arranging a great tour of the city and Puget Sound.
Pike's Market and great shopping were within easy walking distance from the
hotel. The room did not have a view but was very attractive and comfortable. Wi
Fi was not free in the room but was available for free in the lobby which had
plenty of seating and complimentarily coffee in in the morning. We loved the bar
at the hotel and went there for a bit each night. Our favorite discoveries in
dining were the Cheesecake Factory across the street as well as Pike's Chowder
and the Pink Door found in the market's alley's. Serious Pie had delicious pizza
and was also walking distance in a different direction. We also enjoyed some
great brews at Pike's Pub near the market. We found the hotel to be excellent
accommodation for the purpose of our visit.

Excellent location, excellent staff. I was a little worried when I booked it
because the photos on the site had the rooms looking REALLY outdated, but again
for the price and location I could not pass it up. Rooms were excellent and had
been updated a bit from what was shown on the website.

Basically, the room is clean and nice but the AC is too noisy. We can also hear
voices from the next room, very loud. The worst part was the card key which
supposes to operate the elevator and open room door often went down. During our
5-day staying, we have changed our card keys three times. Other guests also had
the same problem.
Another thing I'd like to complain is that I asked the front desk to book a
Boeing Tour for me. However, the front desk booked me to a company that is
different with the brochure I showed them without consulting with me first. This
mistake not only cost me more money ($11 difference) but also separated me from
my friends who went on with another company. |
