Our family has been staying at the Silver Cloud Inn on Broadway for almost two
weeks now due to it's proximity to Swedish Medical Center where my dad is in
ICU. I cannot rave enough about our experience here. From the front desk staff,
the housekeepers, the shuttle drivers and the entire crew at Jimmy's they have
been amazing. Their care and genuine hospitality have meant so much to my
family. From placing our rooms close together on the same floor, accommodating
for very late night/early morning check-in's for our large family without
reservations, and for Jimmy's for extending so many requests, kind, positive
words and seating our large groups several times a day. The beautiful part was
that they all made it seem so effortless even during this busy Holiday season. I
would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a clean, safe,
comfortable place to stay in the Downtown, Broadway, First Hill areas of Seattle
no matter the reason for your visit.

Stayed here for 2 nights while attending a Seahawks game. Great price through
Hotwire not as close to downtown as we would of liked but the free shuttle was
easy to use and quick. You need to book ahead however, especially for a football
game. We waited until after breakfast, IHOP right beside, and the shuttles were
all full. Only a $7 taxi ride to the stadium so no biggie. Parking will cost
$16/day, kinda pricey when there is an $8/day lot right next door. Not the
greatest neighborhood, safe enough, just not much around for shopping or
nightlife. Rooms were large and very clean and quiet. Free wi-fi, fridge and
microwave, Aveda care products. On site restaurant, Jimmy's, had a decent happy
hour, try the cone of fries. Would stay again and would try their other
locations as well.

Overall the experience was okay despite some significant issues.
The shuttle service - excellent.
The front desk and restaurant staff - excellent.
The room was dated but extremely clean.
The problems were two fold.
1. Our room was on the 5th floor facing the University and at first we thought
the window was open and we realized that the wind and sound were coming through
the casing of the frame. The room was chilly, the in-room heat essentially
non-operational. When the emergency vehicles from the hospital came down
Broadway the sound was truly in our room.
2. Sheets that fit are important. The fitted sheet would not remain on the
mattress and we woke up throughout the night sleeping directly on the mattress.
Not cool.
We had friends who stayed in another room - theirs had a king bed and they did
not have the "too small fitted sheet" issue. Our room had two queen beds. They
also did not have the faulty window casing issue.
I think your experience depends on the room you get and the bed type you get.

Stayed here because of its close proximity to Swedish Hospital - 2 block walking
distance. Room was clean, comfortable bed and pillows. room comes with a little
fridge and a microwave, Aveda care products, free newspapers, free wi-fi. No
room safe though. In the lobby they have a nice open sitting area, a little
convenience item retail area and a business center with 2 computers and 1
printer. Took out a meal from Jimmy's, sandwiches and burgers both with fries,
very good and the portions were nice size. secure parking underground, $16.00
per night with in and out privileges. Didn't try the shuttle which went
downtown, but saw it running people often. A block away is Bartell Drugs and a
QFC grocery store. We did try a Vietnamese Restaurant "Tangerine Tree" by
Bartell's, very good and reasonable. I must say that all the front desk staff
here are excellent. Personable & helpful, made the stay a pleasure and would
stay here again.

Great hotel experience. Nice staff to great, great restaurant with very well
priced happy hour. Rooms were huge and quiet relative to many Seattle hotels I
stayed at. Very comfortable beds, huge clean rooms, big tv. Shuttle service was
awesome. Dropped us in heart of city right up till ten thirty. And picked us up
til that time also |
