The Alexis is located on 1st Avenue and Madison, a couple of blocks from the
water, a few blocks from Pike market. The rooms are comfortable, minibar, as
well as the regular amenities, plus a leopard pattern bathrobes. There is a bar
and a breakfast/lunch dinner in the hotel. Every night between 5 and 6 they have
complementary wine tasting in the lobby, morning coffee and tea is available in
the morning. They have complementary bikes available. If you go down Madison
that will take you to the ferry terminal. Rather than spending $20+ for a
sightseeing boat ride I would recommend taking the ferry to Bainbridge Island.
You pay $7.50 per person, and you only pay for going, the ride back is free. We
had a great time walking around downtown Bainbridge Island, and the view from
the ferry is great, i.e. if you are lucky enough to catch a clear day in
Seattle.

Recently had the pleasure of spending 5 nights at the Alexis, and I can't say
enough good things about the place. First of all, the location can't be beat;
it's within walking distance to Pike Street, Safeco, Qwest, the Aquarium, and
pretty much anything else you could want in downtown Seattle. Second, the
building itself is amazingly renovated and full of beautiful art - the suites
are unique, beautifully decorated, and packed with amenities. Third, the food is
amazing - the burger from the Bookstore Bar was literally the best I'd ever had.
And last (and most importantly), the service was completely unparalleled. From
the General Manger to the Concierge, to the bellboys, to the hospitality staff;
every person we met was highly attentive and extremely friendly. The Alexis
clearly hires the best quality staff, and they take pride in their work. It felt
like home while we were there, and I can't wait to go back!

Stayed here for a romantic weekend away, visiting Seattle for the first time.
Loved the classy yet modern decor of the lobby and rooms. The hallways have
unique art, which adds a nice touch. The bathroom was gorgeous. Hotel staff was
very helpful.
My only beef was the slow service at the hotel restaurant when we ate there for
brunch on Sunday.

We love Kimpton hotels and the Alexis is no exception. The staff is amazing.
They had a wine hour every night and truly cared about our experience. We would
HIGHLY recommend this hotel and any Kimpton. |
