Hotel Review of the Crowne Plaza Hotel Seattle

6 April 2012
Stayed on Executive floors - great breakfast. Dined in Regatta restaurant first night - excellent service with great humour. All the staff we met from check-in to check-out were helpful and without exception seemed happy in their work - and to me that matters way more than anything else.
If I was being picky I could say that the decor was a little tired, but you overlook these things when the service is first class.
Situated in the middle of downtown, this hotel is right at the heart of all attractions and stores.
We used the hotel as our base for our first couple of days in Seattle and look forward to returning next week on our way home.

I love it when people act like they enjoy their job and this is the case at the Crowne Plaza. Had a nice corner room. Asked for quiet. Location is perfect. Had calm chowder in the bar. Very good service.

Relative to other Crowne Plazas worldwide, this is very similar. Staying 4 days on the 33rd exec floor it was a nice view for sure, and the location is excellent for walking to major tourist attractions. Room service is expensive as expected, but the food is of a higher than usual standard. I did not have a vehicle so cannot comment on parking.

Room for improvement: Definitely something up with the HVAC system. A 2 degree change would cause it to alternate between AC/Heating which led to some loud night time ventilation. I ended up switching it off so I could sleep. The lifts seem to be programmed obscurely and there can be long waits for lifts at peak times.

A group of women friends met in Seattle for a mid-week shopping experience. We stayed 2 nights at the Crowne Plaza downtown. All of us remarked that we had never stayed anywhere with a friendlier, happy staff than this hotel. Each person who had any dealing with our experience there was genuinely charming...not in a fake or contrived or ingenuous way, but in such a way that made us feel part of a bigger, happier world. Truly remarkable.

This may work for business travellers, but it had nothing to recommend it for my wife and I on a holiday weekend.
The room was nice and spacious and very clean.
I was shocked to find myself pressured into paying over $40 for parking. This is at the top end of market price in this area of Seattle, but the staff do not offer any realistic alternative upon arrival Very poor front door service! Everyone else was fine mind you.
Also, this is a climate controlled hotel, and we could not find a comfortable setting for sleeping. As a result we both slept very poorly for the 2 nights we were there.
I would not stay here again. nor would I recommend it to anyone. 21 December 2011

I would like to start off by recognizing Dante at the front desk. We booked our room last minute through Hotwire. From my experience, hotels treat Hotwire guests like bottom feeders since the rate is so low. In this case, Dante treated us like we were VIPs. From the moment he greeted us, he was very accommodating, courteous, and professional. He gave us a complimentary upgrade to one of the Parlor Suites on the 30th floor. The room was gorgeous, well appointed, and very clean and spacious. The bed was to die for! The restaurant was very comfortable, very lounge like and a great place to grab a bite and drink after a long day. Our server was great, and very personable. We took advantage of the breakfast buffet the restaurant offered the next morning. The arrangement of food was of good quality and very good! I would recommend Crown Plaza to anyone who cares about getting 5 star treatment at a more affordable price. It is clear that this property values its guests and loves to make a memorable impression.

Room Tip: Sign up for the rewards program when you check in! It is free and you get free perks right away! Free wifi, discounted breakfast, comp upgrade if available.

I've stayed at the Seattle Crowne Plaza a couple of times in the past year or so.

Very friendly staff, clean rooms, and loads of stuff to do near the hotel. The convention center is a few blocks away, as are a lot of dining options. The Pike Street Market is within easy walking distance too.

4pm checkin time (however I've been able to get an early checkin by just asking), and a noon checkout time is pretty typical. I've never actually ate at the hotel restaurant, as there's so many options nearby.

I'd stay there again anytime.

Room Tip: I had a room on the 19th floor right next to the elevators. Normally this would have sent alarm bells off, but I decided to give it a try. I never heard any noise from the elevators when my door was closed. The room was a little bigger than the typical rooms on the floor too, which was nice.
