I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Seattle for 2 nights while in town on
business and would stay here again. The staff was polite and friendly; the room
was a nice size, clean, and comfortable. There was a bit of noise from the busy
street below my room on the 6th floor (facing the space needle) so if you're a
real light sleeper you may want to request a room in a different area of the
hotel. The in-room wifi was a little glichy at times but mostly worked well.
Parking is $10 a night and is located under the hotel.

The price we were quoted at the Holiday Inn Express Seattle for our stay was a
lot different then the price we were charged once we got there. There rooms are
rated based on an average and availability. If they have a lot of empty rooms
then the rooms are less expensive and if they are near full the rate you are
charged goes up significantly. Trying to find someone who can explain all this
to you is not possible, the staff at the check-in are very uninformed and
borderline rude. Would not stay here again and would not recommend this place to
anyone..

My wife and I spent one night at the Holiday Inn Express Seattle last week as a
mini getaway. Depending on what you need to do/see this hotel will probably suit
you well. I primarily stay in IHG properties due to the Priority Club program
and that was my main reason for staying here. Having said that it is close to
the Space Needle, shops, restaurants and I-5 interchanges. The front desk staff
was quite friendly and they upgraded us to a suite on the west side of the
hotel. Try to get this side as it will give you a great view of the needle
especially in the evening. The bathroom was revently upgraded with a large
jacuzzi tub and new tiling. The rrom also offered a fridge and microwave.
Parking was pretty full while we there but we found a spot and for $10 it's a
good deal. Breakfast was typical HIE fare.
Aside from the bathroom the room seemed a bit tired. The furnishings and decor
are older. I'm not sure if it was just our room but the layout was not to my
liking either. The bed is too close to the wall, the vanity is in the main
sleeping area and there was no desk, just a round table. As we were there for a
short pleasure stay it wasn't a big deal but it would not be great for business.
One other minor irritant is the internet access. We could connect just fine but
every time out iPads powered down we would lose the connection and have to
re-enter the password.
Despite all of this we will probably stay at the Holiday Inn Express Seattle
again on our next rip. The location, price and Priority Club points
opportunities more than make up for the shortcomings.

In town for a conference and was willing to walk to save a little money. This
place fit the bill. Clean, decent breakfast, helpful staff and free Internet.
The only problem is half the rooms overlook Hiway 99. Constant traffic noise
24/7. Ask for a room on the other side. Easy walk to good restaurants and the
Pike Market.

This hotel is nice, rooms are a little dated but the beds were super comfy and
the black out blinds were a big plus!
Found it a bit strange having the sink in the bedroom opposed to the bathroom.
Wasn't that big of a deal though. TV/ TV Remote was a little delayed- but again
not a big deal.
Breakfast was average but got the day off to a good start. Space needle is very
close by which is beside the monorail to bring you downtown.
Parking was secure but had to have room keys on you at all times to get in. An
intercom would be ideal.
Nice restaurant down the ally which was cheap and convenient.
After a long day of traveling all we wanted was to get into bed and after having
our credit card maxed out by the car rental cash deposits were not an option.
Had to transfer money through one of the computers in the business center-
wasn't ideal but we didn't care.
Overall the service is good and we enjoyed our city break.
Would we stay in this holiday inn express again? Depending on price.

Was nicely surprised on arrival when I walked in to the large spacious lobby. We
were greeted warmly by Terra, and were even given goodie bags with bottled water
and cookies! Terra offered us up all sorts of helpful information as we weren't
that familiar with Seattle, and definitely made our arrival relaxing and stress
free.
Our room was gorgeous, spacious and very clean. It had a beautiful view of the
space needle and a large jacuzzi tub.
There is a complimentary breakfast in the morning with lots of options, even a
pancake machine! There is also a restaurant on site, just across the driveway in
the Holiday Inn, that was decent.
There is also free wifi and a business centre.
I couldn't ask for any more from this hotel, especially for the price.

I'm not sure if there are some rooms that are updated, but the room that we were
in certainly was not. The TV had to have been 15 years old, windows/decor
outdated. And to top it off we had a lovely view of the alley and other rooms of
the Holiday Inn behind it.
The positive things are the nice breakfast, free WiFi, good location to Space
Needle and the monorail, and incredible front desk staff. This was our first
time in Seattle and had so many questions about the city. The staff went above
and beyond every single time, helping us with transportation, tours,
restaurants, and so many directions. Everyone I encountered at this hotel was
friendly and helpful.
The negative things were the SMALL bathrooms. The bathroom (toilet area) is the
exact width of the door, making it awkward to change clothes or do anything in
the bathroom with so little space. There was also mold at the top of the shower.
The pool was very small with no hot tub. The elevators (two) were very slow,
especially in the morning rush for breakfast/checking out.
Overall I would definitely stay at this hotel again. We were able to get
anywhere without a car, using the monorail and walking. We walked from the
market, which wasn't so bad. When comparing the price to others in the area,
this hotel was one of the cheapest, and had the best rooms. It's a value hotel,
no frills, but a good place to come back to after a long day and worth the
money. |
