Sorrento Hotel Seattle Guest Reviews

29 December 2011
We stayed on Christmas Eve, enjoyed dinner in the Hunt Club and live jazz in the Fireplace Room before going to Midnight Mass at St. James Cathedral, about 2 blocks away.
The room was well maintained, clean and comfortable. It has all the charm, and a few of the expected shortcomings (smaller rooms, bit noisy) of an older hotel, but nothing I would call a problem. I did not use the fitness center, but the hotel does have one, something I could not find listed on their website.
The best part of our stay was the friendly staff. We were looking for a taxi during the morning checkout rush. In the midst of this very busy scene, one of the valets (Rob?) took us to the bus station in the hotel car. We also enjoyed excellent service in the restaurant and lounge. The staff at this hotel are the reason we would return.

Took my husband here for "date night" and had a very nice, romantic stay at this historic hotel. The hotel itself is beautiful! The staff members were friendly and efficient. The accommodations were clean, comfortable and charming. Our favorite was the fireside room! If you choose to stay at this hotel, you will not be disappointed.

My husband and I chose to spend our anniversary at The Sorrento Hotel in December. His company had arranged for dinner in the Hunt Club restaurant at the hotel so he thought it would be lovely to spend the night at the hotel. We had stayed there two years prior and remembered it as having a warm and lovely ambiance. Our room was comfortable and well-designed. We were greeted with a small bottle of wine, salted chocolate caramels (yummy) and a lovely note congratulating us on our anniversary. The coffee was delicious - prepared with a coffee press with detailed instructions provided. Only two "flies in the ointment": the room was too warm and I could not find a way to turn down the heat (in the middle of the night and not thinking clearly to phone the front desk). Also my husband had booked the room one month ahead and we found out later that other members of our party who stayed the night as well, paid less for their package and were upgraded upon arrival. The hotel's response to this was to say that we got what we paid for and that it is their discretion to chose to upgrade upon arrival. My husband had also requested a corner room (we didn't get one), but another member of our party received one and they arrived after us and had not requested one. Hard to understand how hotels work. However, I would return for another visit.

This is a true find in any city! The service is exceptional. Talk about a five star performance! It is a true boutique hotel! It is comfortable and historic. What a great place....and it is a return trip for us.

Pros: everyone was extremely friendly and helpful, from the valet to the concierge. The rooms were clean, bed was very comfortable with wonderful, soft sheets. Nice toiletries. The lounge downstairs is beautiful, with a fireplace and comfy chairs. Breakfast was delicious (especially the smoked salmon eggs benedict). The hotel provides a car service, which is really nice, and the concierge booked us dinner reservations when we asked for a recommendation-it turned out to be exactly what we wanted.
Cons: the hotel is a bit of a walk from downtown, 15 minutes downhill, 30 uphill, but if you're relatively in shape it's not a problem!
